12 Day Withdawls From Oxycontin

I WOULD SHOOT ANY FROM 15-20 OXYCONTIN 80 MG A DAY AND KNOW I AM HAVING TO DEAL WITH ALOT OF PAIN. CAN'T SLEEP BUT 4 HOURS A NIGHT. FEEL LIKE I AM ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND. ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE HELPFUL.
Oh Chit Lizzie, it is gonna take you a few weeks to get to a point of feeling better. Do you have the support of a doctor that can help you through this? Please talk to your doctor about helping you thru the w/d.
NO I DON'T HAVE A DOCTOR. I LEFT FL. CAUSE I KNEW I WOULD FALE. BUT I HAVE MY MOM WHO IS TAKING ME TO MEETING AND TRYING TO GET ME TO SEE A DOC. HERE WITH HER CAUSE I KNOW MYSELF. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE PAIN ANYMORE.
Lizzie, please listen to your Mother and get yourself into see a doctor. Oxy w/d is one tough cookie. I have gone c/t off of Oxy before but never as much as what you were taking. A doctor can give you some meds that will make the process much easier.

Do you have legit pain issues? What made you start using Oxy to begin with?

Sorry for the questions, I just want to help you.
I GOT PUT ON THEM FOR NINE MONTS BEFORE THEY DID NECK SURGERY. THEN FOUND OUT I HAD BACK PROBLEMS TOO. AND THEN LUPAS. THIS IS ALL TRUE BUT I GOT ADDITED AND THEN DOC. SHOP AND DEALING THE WHOLE LIFESTYLE I THOUGHT I WAS COOL. KNOW I I KNOW I WAS f***ED UP!!!!!!
I haerz ya!!I know what your going thru. You should really go see a doc cuz they make the wds tolerable.Meetings help a lot too cuz you get a lot off your chest....
Im sorry to hear about what you are going through. Just remember no pain no gain. I deal with my mom abusing pain pills every day. She had a back operation, and then several more after that. Doctors perscribed her oxycontin, percocet and morphine patches. That was 10 years ago, she is still horribly addicted. When I see her going through withdraws, she feels pain, and gets sick, barely sleeping and whatnot. But you can do it, you can stay clean. You should really see a doctor. Or anyone who can give you support. Your doing this to better yourself, and trust me your loved ones will appreciate it. Keep your head up, you can only get better from stay clean. God bless and good luck.

I was reading your story about your addiction to oc's. I was addict to oxys for three years I really think you should be detoxed by a hospital
Hi it's Sara again, you also got my attention because I have a sister in law who also had Lopus, and for the fact that I'm also addicted to oxy's please respond back, I would love to help you, Sara
Sara are you still addicted to the OC's? What are you doing to stop just wondering?
I will always be an addict. I have not used oxy's for a long time. In April of ' 05 I had started a metadone program and detoxed off it Sep. 22, 05 I' ve been clean ever sense.
I finally was able to sleep for 7hours. I know I can do this. I have to apply for a medical card and then i can see a doc. then but for now i am just going to hold on. alot of this is just pain and not knowing how to handle pain anymore.
hi,
welcome to the board. have you heard of suboxone? It cuts off withdrawels and it can be used for pain management. I used to use pretty much every pain med available but I was able to stop by using suboxone to detox. I was on it for 6 months, which i think was too long and i didn't taper off it like i should have so i had pretty bad withdrawels. However, under a good doctor's care you should be just fine. Just a suggestion. If you have any questions just ask me i'm here to help. Love, Laura
Lizzie-How many days have you been off.If its been more than 5 you are through the worst and going to a Dr. may not even be necessary.Dope sickness last 3-5 days and what they normally do is put you on Clonidine. If you have already slept 7 hours, thats great.Your going to have some real mental stuff start going on now.Did you say you were going to meetings? Right now its just going to take time.Stay away from anything that might be a trigger.Going to a Dr. was a big trigger for me.
If this is only your 2nd or 3rd day then that might be a good ideal. They can give you Clonidine for your blood pressure and a long acting benzo like librium.
It is going to be really hard for a couple of weeks.Im an oxy addict and they are as tough as heroin. You can go through some nasty withdrawls.
I really didnt get enough info from your post so why dont you explain your situation a little more and maybe we can help.
Hey Lizzie - good for you! 12 days is huge! If you're not already doing so I would recommend getting f2f support...a counselor, meetings, etc.

Stay strong!
Jim
