At Joe and Charlie's Big Book Seminar there is an elderly lady(sorry Willie) named Willie B who says "Taste you words before you spit them out. Ask yourself, is it kind? is it necessary? is it true?". Words to live by.

She is such a cool lady. She has a million years sober. I think she's 85 (got sober in her late 20s) and was doing the seminar with them every year.Quite a few of them retired this year and I was lucky enough to catch them in their last year). She would do the steps out of the 12 and 12. She loves motorcycles and they put a pic of her on the wall on one. She has so many good things to say, mostly directed to women, but I can't remember them all. The one about kind, necessary and true I try to practice but sometimes its hard. Oh well, like my sponsor says "practice, practice. practice" hehe
Oh yeah, there is a site when you can listen to Joe and Charlie for free. If you like I will find it for you and post it. I'm not sure is Willie's on it or not.

One of our local AA chapters is doing the "Joe and Charlie" tapes starting next week. I've always wanted to hear them and be able to sit and talk about it afterwards with people who know their stuff. I'm really looking forward to it.

CG The seminar is amazing. I've been to 4 I think. Although they are repetitious(sp?) I always learn something new. Next year someone new is doing them so it will be like a whole new seminar. Joe and Charlie had it down pat pretty good. They were entertaining and informative and many people will miss them I'm sure you'll get a lot out of the tapes. The seminar is so spiritually lifting. You walk around with a good feeling for a long time. Of course a 4 day break in Boca Raton is nice too but the sessions are long and by evening there's enough energy left for ice cream by the pool and bed. I'm really looking forward to next year. Check out that site when you have time. I used to put it on in the background when I was hanging out at home.
I was really surprized to hear how long it takes to get through the tapes! It's like 6 weeks! After reading what you had to say though, I'm really excited about it. I love anything new and uplifting. Life is yucky enough.
