Hey, has anyone ever seriously tried the holiistic (sp) approach talked about under treatment options. THEre is this book on nutrition called natural highs, form herbs, vitamins, etc, etc. Has that stuff eve really worked for anyone, or has anyone tried it. Stuff like htats never done much for me, but i was just guessing as to what to take.
Hey, from some of u hard core, feet planted solid on the ground, i really need to communicate with someone strong. i have no problem talking about this to all, but im afraid that by talking about the state of relapse i'm past teetering on the edge of, i might trigger someone. u guys let me know the best way to handle this please. if u think its safe to talk about my current struggle here, without causing harm to anyone, then i'm ok with it.
also , if anyone would consider talking to me direct on my emailthat would be cool too, i just do not want to trigger anyone & im shorly going to have to make a tough decision, i think at least a coupe of u have an idea what im talking about.
Love & thaks in advance for ur support, Harry, email is browndog113@yahoo.com
dog, don't do it. I heard it in a meeting once that everytime you go out, and use again, you take a big axe and chop at that tree of faith...
After a while, the tree falls..
I just thought of that after I sent you an email, ha ha...I really wasn't trying to sound witty here...
If there is one thing that I HAVE LEARNED...it really just isn't worth it. The other thing that I have learned is that it SEEMS WORTH IT..but isn't.

Dog Listen I know I'm probaly not the best to give any advise but I do think you need to keep talking on here.Yes alot of us have our weak moments but that doesn't mean you need to keep all those feelings inside. That can only bring heartache. So keep posting.I'll help if I can....mj
Hey dog , if you give me a way to get you my email without having to put it on the entire post I would be happy to talk with you as we have much in common. Acupuncture has a great succes rate in keeping down cravings and improving energy and mood. I recently started on some homeopathic remedies to get my chemical systm back working where it should and to sleep better and must admit I have noticed adiference. The guy I use was trained in india and is now in NY and does phone consults, hes going back to live in india in march but will still work with people over internet. Id be happy to give you his name and number if you interested. there are some other things I m learning about oils and such and will let you know how they work. A guy Ive known for 20 years and play poker with is a stoned cold alcoholic hipped me to liquid mineral lithium which is nothing like the pill form its natural , I noticed a big difference in him emotionally and he seemed calmer so I just started on that also will let you know if I feel different in wek or so and could give youname of place to get it . FOr the liquid mineral lithium they want a dr to call to order it but I could do it for you . Its safe enough to drink a whole bottle without harm but they suggest a couple teaspoons a day. Hang in there hope all is well and happy new year Ray
Hey Ray, u can e-mail me @browndog113@yahoo.com, i wont give our ur email to anyone, or if u want, i'm gettin a new cell phone next week & i'll post the number. anything that can help would be great. I'm leaving the methadone option open in my mind, cause as much as i dont want it, i'm not goin on like this.
BD - Methadone is a lot worse than any drug such as H and pain pills. Some people can't get off of it even if they try. They are stuck with going to clinics every day for their daily input.
Hey Dog, why don't you consider the sub? From what I've read on here it seems to work well for many people. God, methadone is so brutal. I hate to see anyone go that route if they can help it. It seems like it's worth a shot. Love, Kat
Same question here...why not sub....
Dog, are you getting depression? I still have bouts of it, it seemed at 30 days and now last couple of days, it usually lifts so it hasn't been a problem.
The sub will help with many things, pain, depression and cravings, I's take sub any day over meth, at least you can get off of the sub.

Hey John, you were the one who just used sub for a short time weren't you? Sometimes it's hard to keep everybody's story straight on here, lol. When I got clean I wanted to go that route but my dr didn't prescribe it so I went cold turkey.Reading different stories on here it sounds like the sub would be good for people who have long term problems or have tried everything else. Anyway, just couldn't remember your exact story. Love, Kat
Yes, Kat, thats me, I used it short term, but I think im suffering from PAWS.
Kat, do you get bouts of dpression of just plain bad days still?
Somedays Im happy as a lark, then a few days not so good, no cravings for anything. I know this is probably the price I pay for three years of abuse. I just have a hard time sometime telling myself its temporary.
Thanks Kat

Oh yes John!! I've never been one prone to depression, it's just not my nature I guess. But since getting clean it comes and goes. And it's not always cravings either. Some days for no reason I can think of I just feel down. I used for over eight years so I assume my body is going to take awhile to get back to normal. (whatever that is, lol). There are certain things I can do that help me snap out of it. I put on the headphones (if anyone is home) and listen to music. Music seems to get those endorphins going and puts me in a better frame of mind. Getting busy sometimes helps too, just get out of the house and do something, even if it's just play with the dog. I guess what I get is not true depression because from what I understand a person can't just snap out of that. I know some people that take anti depressants because of being chemically imbalanced from the drug use. It sounds like you're kind of like me, sort of a mild case. However I did go through a fairly serious bout with it at 90 days, and it took awhile for me to bounce back from that. Love, Kat
Thanks for the reply Kat, I actually look forward to going to work because I stay busy and usually feel better. I guess Im gonna have to find things on weekends to keep me busy.
Good night

whats up with this suboxine stuff. i was on methadone maintenance for six years, & believe me i know its a mf gettin off. i just really gotta do something. there were & are an awful lot of things i didnt like about being on methadone. Including, but not limited to, seeming to always have one foot strongly in the door or on the slippery floor of addiction, & being in continueous contact (through the oh so helpful groups) with every addict that every existed. I know that stuff, believe me.
At the same time, i really need to get my life back on a sort of regular life. Methadone helped me with that. A lot. It did screw up my sex life a bit, but things aint been that exciting around my household for a long time anyhow, so Wtf.
I'm thinking about it only, but seriously. It's wierd, about 6 , 7 months ago my shrink told me to get back on it. (this guy is in no way a pro methadone guy). When I told him I was goin for another roll without it, one more roll, he sincerely wished me the best & hoped it would work, but also cautioned me that i was on more shaky ground then i thought. (BTW This is when i was clean & he had been seeing me for about a year and saw me go thru wd's (mild) clean periods, relapse, wd's, outpatient, etc, etc,. )
I'm thinkin he saw something i didn't see, but maybe am starting to.
If I ever gut back on that, it will be meth for life, cause i aint goin thru gettin off it again, & i do have to find a way to live without drugs being in the background or foreground or around the corner all the time.
Why is suboxone better then methadone?
Thanks for all the loving advice.

BTW does suboxene help w depression, when i was on methadone i dont remember ever being depressed unless i was using other things with it.
Bdog, the sub helped me with the depression, the other two times I quit the depression was one of the things that got me back to using.
The sub is a whole lot easier to get off of than meth from what I hear, never been on meth, but I hear horror stories.
The sub is doable, even after a long period of use, read some of those links misty put up. My doc also said sub is a lot easier to get off of than meth and he's treated a lot of patients that have used both.

is sub something a dr or shrink can prescribe without those f..n clinics?
Yes, if he took the courses, check Misty's list for docs that can prescribe.
Also call around, some docs are'nt on the list and can prescribe.
