Ok...tomorrow is the sub Dr. appt. I already called CVS near there to make sure they carry sub. so I am prepared. I will wait as long as possible past 12 hours...I really want this to work...I feel so scared after the detox incident. What will it feel like? You don't think I will have any weird side effects like the Ultram they gave me in detox...hallucinations and such. I am a nervous wreck...but I need this to work. I want to be able to focus on my entire recovery w/o obsessing over the physical wd's. I have a list of meetings in my area and have 3 more weeks off to stabilize my health. The shingles are much better(Valtrex is a Godsend) and I did make it to church and the market. I prayed so hard for God to help me to become the woman he wants me to be...someone of use to society...I want to help others. I surely know the feeling of being sick and alone with mean uncaring nurses around me. I wish they had the tables turned on them just to get a taste of their own bitter medicine. Mj trusts him completely so I am going in with a positive attitude. Thank you all for your help, support, and responses...Love, S
I am so dern proud of you Sharon. It takes alot of courage to do what you are doing. Taking control of your health. You are such a nice women and I know you so want to a life that has meaning and quality. You will get the opportunity and it will be wonderful.
Listen to your Doctor, I hope that he is able to provide you with some of the answers you need, please prepare a list of questions so you don't forget when you are there. Sometimes we have so many questions to ask but at the heat of the moment you forget. This is your life and your health you are deserved of that time. I have to admit that I am a little concerned that the Doctor is giving you a script and sending you on your way. Never the less, I have alot of experience with this med as do others. It won't take away from the advice of your doctor but you can always count on those here.
If your appointment is at noon tomorrow take your last dose of meds before you go to bed and by the time you go to the Doc and fill your script you will be ready. I am sure he will start you at 2mg increments. You will wait about 20 mins and by then you will notice that you are feeling considerably better. Within the next hour 2mgs more....it really is a wait and see. I hope your BF is with you. Nothing bad will happen, you must be in w/d though.
I have the feeling that you will do so well on this med. I am so pulling for you. I know you have alot of things in place in conjunction with the medicine that is a must!

Did you manage to get a copy of the COWS w/d chart. It is used by most if not all Doctors that rx this med. Its helpful....especially if you will be inducing yourself!!

I took 2 mg and within 20-30 minutes I felt so much better. My next 2mg dose was 3.5 after and my last was 4 hrs later I believe.

Sharon try to get 24 hrs minimum-JMHO--before taking the sub. And make sure its under your tongue and "SLOWLY dissolving" (I assume your doctor will advise you but just in case ask as many questions as you have.
I have no idea who this doctor is what type etc. I would write down ALL your questions/Concerns on a piece of paper for your doctor to read and answer you.

When I got on sub the doctor gave me the prescription to go and fill and then I was supposed to go back and be induced there. Well that didn't go as planned because my pharmacy didn't have the 2 mgs. so I had to wait like 2 more hours for someone to go to another town and get me the medicine. I took 4 mgs. and 10 minutes later I felt better. I felt normal.
