Hey Bob,
I lived at Frankford and Tyson for 17 years before we moved out 12 years ago to Lancaster County. When I lived there I had no idea I would ever need to go to a meeting so learning how many meetings places were around me is interesting. That Dunkin Donuts wasn't there either!

Thanks Phillys215, ill try that search.
mdp,
Well now, I grew up at Frankfurt and Vista, then moved to Holmsburg in 77'.
I also lived in Lancaster Co. for a few years, 91-95, I moved to Adams Town then over to Akron Pa. just outside Ephrata. I loved it there, but got laid off in 95,
I would have stayed but mt wife was Pregnant again so I moved back to Philly, and went back to work for a guy that wanted me back, I was lucky, the guy called me and asked if I'd come back to work for him two days after I got laid off.
I still wish I had stayed in Lancaster, I really miss it. Thanks for the post.
Yeah, that Duncan Donuts used to be a Jack in The Box! lmao years ago. Remember the Mayfair movies and the Merban? It sure has changed over the years, for the worst I might add! lol
Take care.....................................God bless.....................................Bob

What about the Devon? hehe. First time I went there I took my kids to see Mary Poppins. A far cry from what it was originally.
We moved to Elizabethtown in 92 and then to Illinois in 97. My sisters worked at the McD's at Frankford and Cottman and I used to take the kids up there for lunch all the time. My younger kids went to St. Leo's in Tacony and then my oldest went to Northeast for two years until we moved. I grew up in Logan and then moved to Ditman and Unruh as a HS senior, so I spent a lot of my life in that area.
What I wouldn't give for an Amoroso roll right now! Hey, is Moe's still there? Had many breakfasts at the Mayfair Diner too. Over Thanksgiving we all rented a house in the Pocono's and I came home with a bunch of pork roll and scrapple. I still have a sister on Magee Ave but the rest of them are in Bucks or Montgomery County now.
I found recovery in Illinois and this is my home now and I am happy here, but I still long for the city and my friends and the food. Spent many dates with my husband at Lee's on Cheltenham Ave, long before they became a chain. Cheltenham or Imperial with extra meat and cheese. yum!!!!!!

Had to jump in on this thread--I was born and raised in South Philly--1 of 12 kids, and still have a lot of family and friends down there. When I go for visits I swear I go up a pants size----there is a place on Snyder Ave, right off of front street--the best roast pork and chesse steaks---you guys should hit it, if your down there.
Oh thats Johnny's and I hit that place everytime I am in the city..........there roastpork is to die for.........and don't forget primo's hoagies...and Sarcones bread.......I could go on and on........
mistyeyes,
Thats what it is called !!! I just follow the line and smell. I am heading there on Saturday--feel the need for a treat--LOL
