Hey ya all HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. Since valentines is about love I think for those of us who have not yet reached the point of loving ourselves today would be a good day to start or at least make a beginning to try. I have been sober for 6 weeks today. I am visiting with my daughter and last night her boyfriend had beer. (he asked if I would mind him buying some first) I told him to go ahead and do what he wanted. After all it's his home and besides I can't hide from it forever. Well he got his beer and I didn't even get the urge to have one. Now I don't know about you guys but I call that progress.! So I feel confident about that and am certainly thankful for it. The fact that I was having a good day helped a lot. I find the most time I want to drink is when I am angry or upset so I try to avoid situations that will make me feel that way. Anyway enough about me. I wish you ALL a Happy Valentines day and I hope you all enjoy yourself and let your certain someone and your family know that you love them .And if you can't say it with flowers or candy say it with YOUR actions ...STAY SOBER..

Way To Go Pirate; 6 Weeks Of Sobriety Is Fabulous!!!
Yes, Your definately making great progress. Being able to sit in the same room with someone else drinking beer and having it not bother you, not wanting one is a sign of acceptance and desire to remain sober.
I know for me anger and fear are still a bit triggering for me. So I hand it over quickly to God and get into the steps. I hear at the meetings about complacency. So, I need to always be working it if you know what I mean. Because we have to live life on life's terms and we know it's not all going to be a bed full of roses.
On that note I hope you get a dozen roses, or some of your favorite flowers, candy on this Valentines Day. You and I are both fortunate to have loving and supportive spouses. Congrats on 6 weeks I'm So Proud Of You, I'm So Happy For You!!!
We Can Do This One Day At A Time!!!
God Bless You!!!
