A Sick Mind

An example of a sick mind: Since I entered recovery I have been self conscious of my teeth. I have had molars falling out, several need caps, I have chipped several during seizues and of course all the cavities from not looking after them while using.

A few days ago I mentioned this to my case worker for my disability, she said she was surprised I hadnt had it checked out since my dental coverage had been substantially increased when I was switched and now included full dental.

So I went to the dentist and was told that although there is thousands and thousand and thousandyou get the point, worth of work to be done is should all be covered!

What was my immediate reaction? Oh crap now I have to spend days in a dental chair I proceeded to complain for days about having to go to the dentist. LOL

It finally occurred to me that I have been blessed with a chance to fix something that was bothering me, and the financial cost I was so worried about would be taken care of.

I am grateful for this and the realization of the miracle that has happened.I just may be a little slow thats all. LOL
You want regret it.Its something I took care of about 10 years ago and I didnt have insurance. It was a big self eteem producer. We need all that we can get.
Be sure and let your Dentist know your in recovery. Its amazing what they can do now where you wont have to worry about taking narcotics.
Good Luck
I had zillions of dollars worth of work in my mouth (think brand new bass boat for the dentist)

From my years of doing speed, coke and meth all of my upper teeth were messed up, crowns breaking etc. Last January I had them removed and got dentures, much cheaper than repairing all of the damage I had done. Of course our insurance didn't cover diddly. Just like they wouldn't cover crowns, root canals and all that stuff that would have been necessary had I decided to go that route. I just wish I had gotten dentures when I had the GOOD insurance, but my dentist talked me out of them.

If you have insurance, definately take care of your teeth!
Good idea about telling the dentist I am in recovery. I appreciate that. I do, in fact, make it part of my greeting sometimes when seeing a new Doctor. It's like I am in a meeting.

"Hi my name is Wolf and I am an addict, now what can you do to fix my teeth?"

LOL

God bless.
Dont worry.Theyve heard it before. My dentist is a recovering alcoholic. That stoped the scripts of Percocete real fast.
