Aa???????

Peele tells us in this surprising and practical book:

* Most people overcome addiction to alcohol or drugs on their own, without joining a support group or entering treatment.
* Alcoholism and other addictions are diseases.
* There is a huge industry of treatment centers and organizations which have a vested interest in perpetuating old myths about addiction and recovery(AA)
* There are specific tools anyone can use to help themselves to overcome any addiction with or without professional assistance.
There are several ways to find, reach and stay sober. For me I couldn't do it on my own and my life became unmanageable ~ after trying every which way (I mean everyway) to get sober for 20 years. The 12 Step program that I am member of is integral for me, I believe, in staying sober, but just as importantly it teaching me to live life on life's terms. I hit a huge emotional and spiritual bottom a little over two years ago, my way stopped working. I was in active alcoholism and drug addiction for 28 years. However, I know other people who've got sober on their own. I know AA is not foreveryone. Like they say on the Program live and let live. I have a well rounded, peaceful and serene existence (most of the time). The craving and obsession for mind altering substances has been removed for me. Again, AA is not everyone, just like Rationale Recovery, Moderation Management, Hinduism, Acupunture, Catholicism, Mormonism, EST did not work for me...take care everyone.

You Rock!!!!!!
You Rock? Said that in High school--oh brother

Hi WWgirl
Rizzo,

Why don't you just drop the AA subject already?

You don't want to go, then just don't go.

Nobody is making you go, so don't worry about it.
