calm down sweetie...i'm really interested in that kinda stuff too...in order to know god you must also know the dark side..if he is a good doctor i don't see any reason to be afraid..you are not delving into that kind of stuff...tell him your fears if you can...don't worry be happy Love Laura
Being that upset, I think a good reason to find another Psychiatrist immediately. I would also send a letter to your state medical board reporting what you have learned. I like that mine is very down to Earth. I don't know if I could go for this and I am open minded but this DR is a very important person in your life. You have been with him quite a while, I believe.
Good luck in finding one that clicks with you.
Love, Jean

my old man gave me a good beating for the first time in a long time last night and i cant fight back.....so i brought the bed he sleeps on when my mum kicked him out of her room, so i said "ur not sleeping on anything i paid for" and took the mattress and hid it in the cubby house lol and until i get an apology he can sleep on the floor!! stuff him!
Hmmmm....Sounds like your old man is possessed by a spirit....perhaps sleeping on the floor is exactly where he needs to be....nice and close to where abusers need to go to.....
Hell.
Stay strong....

Dear Elvis:
You are a young woman - your Father (I'm sorry - I hate to even call him that )
is breaking the law - that man should not put his hands on you, I know that you already know that. If a man hits his wife or a woman hits her husband - that's domestic violence - I don't know if it's called the same when a parent is beating a child (it is criminal!!! We aren't talking little spankings here (he has a problem and you are paying for it) but if you don't have the means to get out on your own and away from him - I know you're young, you could be helped.Go to the authorities.
I know that would be a scary step to turn away from him - he would take it (probably) as you turning on him but you shouldn't have to put up with this anymore. A young girl the age of my middle son went through the same thing from the time she was 12 - 'til she moved out at 17. She lived 2 doors down from us and we didn't know her Father was beating her on a regular basis, we knew nothing, she was embarressed. She would come up and swim with me and told me bruises were b/c of Diabetes. I knew my friend's daughter, about the same age didn't just get bruises b/c of her Diabetes but just thought e'one was different. This man lived like a hermit, never leaving his house. This girl only spoke of his cancer. We lived there 10 years and he had cancer and they gave him 3-6 months to live every time he went to Emory. Doctors treating him before that didn't even know he had cancer and he won a huge settlement - although he was still alive last I heard about 5 years ago and it was Emory giving him months to live - that would have been 22 years ago, b/c we moved there when my youngest was one.
When she was 20, she had moved out but she took him to court and he had to serve a short sentence and pay her restitution, a large sum. It did leave it's marks on her - I don't know if that was the reason but she did turn to drugs for a while. She didn't take care of her Diabetes. Her Pediatrician still sees her as a patient - he's a sweetie - he cares so much for her, mostly knowing what she had to deal with on top of being a Diabetic. Anyway, her heart has stopped at least 3 times due to her Diabetes - we have been to see her in the hospital, only her Mother is ever there - it's like she has a death wish - she thinks it's all funny. Had I known, I would have called and turned him in but no clue. Her Mother finally came through for her and admitted it. Her parents worked different shifts and he did it when her Mother was gone but she told her and showed her the bruises but the Mother was scared of him, too. Her Pediatrician helped. She was a Diabetic, she had made up excuses for the bruises he saw - don't know if he believe her - I know him well and I think had he suspected, he would have turned her Father in as he was supposed to do by law. He did testify for her in court about the many bruises she had.
Please do something. Your Mother is not helping you which also makes me mad even though I had a Mother who tried her best to drive us crazy emotionally - you have such love for your grandmother. If you don't want to go to the authorities, will you consider living with her or would that just make your Father more angry and make it hard on her, too?
Pls do something. I am really worried about you.
Love, Jean
