Its been a long journey, about 6 years ago my mom and dad had hit rock bottom with all percocet addiction, went to rehab, and were bith put on suboxone, which after 5 years of maintaining the doctors that were prescribing this are disappearing, they then were put back on percocet to wean off of with a contracted program and seemed to be ready to be done with all of this, i now feel like they are supplementing the percocet with possibly heroin, they were out of money except cr cards asking for cash, have became really close with an "ex user neighbor that has a drug dealer boyfriend, and always going over there when they have cash. Then they used my sisters vehicle and found in there was a drinking straw slightly melted on the end and brown sticky residue on the inside. About 3 weeks later my moms health has declined horribly started with swollen ankles a coma like state for days and days doctored finally and was diagnosed with pneumonia after treatment didnt work my sister and i drug her to the emergency room in which it was found her lungs were filling up with fluid for a reason they couldnt find and are now claiming maybe it is pneumonia. she is on deaths door step weighing maybe 100 lbs. I guess i feel like i know its heroin but am in a form of denial. What if im wrong? I need some advice.. About the straw, is that a form of paraphernalia for smoking heroin? Can these symptoms be mistaken for pneumonia? Do they do drug tests to patients or does it need to be brought to their attention.. Help anyone.
I don't have the answers for your questions, except to tell the dr's what you are thinking and ask them to do blood tests. at least then you will know what she was taking.

Heroin suppresses the respiratory system...anytime I catch something I end up with pneumonia. ...been that way for years...I assume it's just another by product of using...they could be smoking...chasing the dragon. ..I don't smoke my dope...so don't know all the details. ..tell the doc they use...might help. ...
by what you described it does look like they are smoking heroin , I am so sorry !
