Instead of bickering about the meetings vs. no meetings lets look at the positive affects of being clean vs. using/drinking.....
1. clear eyes, looks improving
2. energy to exercise and motivation to take care of yourself
3. the real "you" emerging from despair
4. sleep returning
5. you run the show, not the pills or alcohol
6. no planning around pills/alchohol
7. no more lies
ETCETERA........ so many more positive things that you all can add on to......

I like the trust and respect I've earned back from my family.
When I was running low on pills, I would have disturbing nightmares about WD. I would actually dream that WD had already started and that I was searching for more pills. I would wake up and feel relieved that I wasn't completely out. Sometimes I would go count my pills just to make sure. Then, I would go back to bed and think about which Dr. I could go to, with a fake neck injury, if nothing else worked out. Thank God that's over! Big advantage of sobriety.
Another advantage is singing to the car radio again. On pills, the noise would get on my nerves and I would just turn it off.
my kids are more responsable and are just kids now
they get good grades and there attendance is miraculous.
we laugh constantly
we enjoy spending time with each other talking and helping with personal probs as well as homework solutions.
i am more involved with each kids school
we help each other cook/clean so we have time to do other stuff thats is fun.
we still talk about the past, my behavior and how much better i am now and my daughter constantly is proud of me and calls me hero.
i love going out now and getting compliments, looking people straight in the eye and complimenting others back when i can.
staying posative, hugs, smiles, kisses. i love yous every morning before school and every night when they gert home is priceless to me.
the compliments i get from thier teachers are better then winning a grammy or the noble peace prize.
i could go on and on but i think you get the pic. my favorite compliments are not how well my kids grades are but how well they do in their siticenship and how well they handle thereselves socialy and how they are alway there to help thier friends through hard times. and like i said soooooooooo much more. i'll spare ya heheheh
