Howdee do all,
My H and I just returned from dinner. It was nice but I really found myself wanting a cocktail tonight. Of course I didn't have one but I did want one. We did a little gambling after dinner and I know that is part of why I was having that old craving. I used to gamble like a crazy person back in the day of my drug use. Now it is only on occasion. My hubby played craps and I played some one arm bandits! It was fun but not like it used to be. Balls being sober is boring sometimes. LOL
I am still waiting to have that great fun that I used to have when I was out there. I live with an alkie but he is quite hilarious when he drinks. I told VW girl this story already but I will share cuz I thought it was funny. Plus I am bored at the moment and we all know what being bored brings.
Anywhoo...I will make a long story short. Last night he was pretty blitzed and I was upstairs watching all my Tivo'd shows. He came stumbling up the stairs and hopped into bed with me. Shortly after that his legs started moving around like he was having seizures. I was like, "What the hell are you moving so much for?" He said, "My legs are gettin' busy!" Okay now get a visual of a grown man laughing at himself mind you. LOL He then said, "Look honey, I am Dancin' in the Sheets!" (He was referencing the song from Footloose "Dancin' in the Sheets by Shalamar). Then he said, "Do I dance any better when I am laying down?" I said, "No honey, even when you are laying down you still are doing the White Man's overbite!" LMAO He is such a bad dancer. I always think he is listening to headphones with different music playing when he dances! LOLOL I swear it was hilarious but now that I reread that perhaps you needed to be there. Oh well it made me laugh.
Anyway shortly after that he of course passed out. He is that kind of a drunk person. Never angry or bitter like I was. I guess that is why I put up with it. He was alot more considerate early on in my recovery. It's like the further I get out the more he forgets that I am also an alkie. Oh well. He will get there in his own time. Until then I can appreciate his sense of humor and I thank my lucky stars that he isn't one of those angry drunks.
Well...I guess I better quit boring everyone with my stories. I was just a little restless so I thought I would hop on here and share.

Hey Val say gidday to the girls for me.
When i was drinking it was all good till i woke up so i drank again, as i get more and more recovery my mind tels me that maybe i didn't have a problem and i abused alcohol to cover the s*** in my life. Well i'm to scared to test that theory and i wanna keep it that way. My wife is in Auzzy and as i type she is doing vineyard tours in the barossa valley getting hammered so i'm batching for 11 days, send the girls over LOL
Of course not all my drinking was bad and yes there were some really out there fun times but in the end i kept looking for them and found only sadness and anyway i'm mad enough without alcohol now, its a good mad which of course i'm insane enough to understandLMAO. What i'm saying is that i don't need to be full of booze to have fun.
You should take the girls out for a night or next time the bands are all playing at VWGirls town you should pack the girls into the car (or if they get motion sickness fly) and go and boogy on down wth the sistas.
Aw well hope hugs and kisses 2 you and the girls.....okay, okay i know let it go LMAO.....do i see a faint smile and giggle

Hi guys, For me I'm never bored in sobriety in fact I don't know how I use to get things done when I was still out there using and drinking, but I also have a lot going on with my kids and a pretty busy job too....so although at times it isn't always fun, it is way better!
Val, Zac is right come on down to the South Bay and we can go to one of the sober dances together! I love to dance and I have so much fun! I bet you feel good today not waking up with a hangover! Keep posting and get the junk out of your head!
Zac your drinking days, well at the end of them, remind me of how I got too...thanks for the reminder. I can never forget where I came from and what is was like.

Hey you two...hope the weekend is turning out well...I had a very busy day today, but it was a lot of fun, got my hair cut, got a facial...did some errands...went to a meeting with my sister, then we went to a nice resto for dinner and then went shopping and I bought some new outfits for work; then to top it off we went to a very "chi-chi" resto for cappucinos and dessert...my youngest daughter went to an NA punk show at the local Alano club....hey whatever it takes for her to hear the message ~ I know she can't hear it from me....good night all.

Hey Zac.....you are sooo funny. I told my husband about you and he thinks you are funny too. BTW the girls are identical. We had fraternal before and I traded them in on identical! LOLOL....

Hey Val Great day in Hokitika NZ. I'm on nightshift so long day today, My wife is sitting on a houseboat on the murray river in a spa pool drinking wine in australia and the kids are with friends while i'm on shift. So that is why my imagination is pretty fertile at the moment LOL and thanks to you Val and yes the girls as well for the laughs we can have about ourselves.
