Hello everyone, i need some advice, i just got out of a drug rehab hospital, this is day 6 from detoxing off vicodin, my body has gone into shock because it had vicodin in it for 3 years! i am now in a 12 step program and also doing outpatient treatment mon thru fri. this is the problem: i am ok mentally but not physically, i have a clonidine patch on which has helped with cravings but i am so FATIGUED AND WEAK!!!!! i can barely function and have done hardly anything but sleep. any advice? Julie
Julie:
Unfortunately, that is part of the process. You will slowly feel better and regain your energy. Try taking L-Tyrosine, B-12, B-50 and a Multi-Vitamin. I take these everyday plus Flax Seed Oil, Acidophilus, Magnesium, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. It took me awhile to start feeling better but definitely support your immune system with supplements, it helps.

Congratulations on your new found freedom from pills. I am glad to hear you are in a 12 step recovery program. That is what works for me. Welcome to the board and I know you will be feeling better soon.

Oh ok It seem like everyone is so faraway from me but yet so close you know what I mean..........hopw all is well and if you ever need to talk I am here alot it helps being on here it passes the day plus alot of people are going through the same things that we go through.....so stay for awhile it will be worth it.........
Hi Julie,
I am new to this recovery process myself and trying desperately to stay clean. I too was an opiate girl and this is just my second week off them.
I agree with the responses and also wanted to offer this about Clonidine. While you are certainly experiencing w/d symptoms, some of the weakness and fatigue is a common side effect of Clonidine. Vitamin, esp the B vitamins, potassium, calcium and magnesium are really helpful.
Good luck to you.............you can do it! And stay in the outpatient program, I think that will help alot.
