That a thread I started titled "It's Very Simple" has 18 pages of replies?
We addicts sure do love to complicate things!
Its like the energizer bunny it just keeps going & going & going....

Matt:
I 'get" it - haha.
It is about to pass "Elvis' thread and that thread was here when I started on 5/31.
I honestly respect your way of staying clean. I am so proud of you, that you found this way while you are still a young man so I'm happy for you.
You have so much to look forward to in life. I had a total of almost 7 years addicted and it was bad. Don't even want to do it again. I think you are so smart to learn young. I'm the one on the board who didn't take my 1st Lortab 'til I was 36. Thought they were wonderful, had so much energy and I thought I was so smart for the 1st 7 months and then I knew I was in trouble, even went to the hospital ER one time thinking I was having a heart attack. The ER DR said I needed detoxing, I promise I had heard of it but didn't really know what it meant. He sent me back to my family DR the next morning who was giving me at least 500 pills a month, even gave me a new 'script that day and I had it refilled.
(I was real smart) I was clean as I could be before then with any kind of pills. Didn't like pot, tried it when I was about 20.
Thank God I was always scared of the needle, I never knew anyone who did it, that helped and I never knew anyone who sold drugs w/o a prescription and that helped. I feel so bad for those people b/c I'm afraid I wouldn't have stopped if I could just drive somewhere and pick them up - no 'script needed. They took over my life for too long.
So, I really admire those people and alcoholics - it would be way too easy to walk into a grocery store and buy beer.
I didn't want to ever be hooked on anything, didn't even think I ever would but at least I needed that piece of paper. Now all of my doctors and pharmacists know, I called them the 1st week I was on this board and told them I was an addict, I had trouble with Lortabs. It's not that easy for the ones who can get it wherever. That's why I applaud the ones who can do it any way they can.
Said enough.
Do you mind if I ask how old you are, you seem like a smart young man. My sons are 23 and 31.
Love,
Jean

Yes Matt it is funny. I'm sorry I fuelled the fire.
Matt, I went over to my parents house and was going through all my old shows and took a few for my drive to work. I'll tell you, I love Brent. That era was my favourite, by far. f***in' tight. Why I just shared that with you, I have no idea. Have a great weekend.

adam sandler is another one of my favorites, I just love a good comedy...and Drew...heck ya....i think she's great too...
sure wish my bro-in-law would get a clue and stop buying those cheesy westerns...nothing screws up my weekend more than having to listen to harmonica and git fiddle while the men are running after whoever stole their womenfolk...lol
I make one exception and that is The Last of the Dogmen....THAT was a fantastic movie...the only reason I sat through it, was because they showed it when I was in Rehab, and didn't have a choice....but anyway....wonderful movie, if you haven't seen it...get it!
