I'm taking Tommy to Lenscrafters on Monday for his glasses. Glad I didn't go where the doctor said because this is costing me $120ish and it comes with everything.
Anyways, the lady there said his eyes were pretty bad when I read her the prescription. It says the left eye is +3.50 and the right is +3.00. Anyone know about these numbers? Don't worry I already have an idea that its not good. But also, is there a chance that he could get better with the glasses? And just how 'blind' is he?
Love,
Roe
Pardon my ignorance, besides reading glasses otc, I've never worn them, either has anyone in my family, so I don't know anything about the eyes.
hey Briar........I don't know much about it, either. My reading glasses (contact) are +225, which is pretty strong. My other eye problem, near-sightedness (distance viewing) is ................I don't know. I just went to look at my contact box for the # and found that I don't have any! So thanks for making me look.
I am sure someone on here will be able to answer the question better. you know, by the time he is a young adult , laser surgery will be perfected and cheaper and he can get his perfect vision back. There is always hope!
Briar I was +6 and +6.50 before I got lasik. Those arent too bad.

Hey sweetie. Dont feel bad - I was the same as you, kind of ignorant when it came to glasses because none of us ever wore them - until a couple of years ago. Amanda was having trouble seeing the board in school and also getting headaches. Come to find out the she did need glasses - hers is -1.25. The eye dr. said that hers will gradually worsen until she's about 18 years old (or whenever she stops growing). I promised her that she could wear contacts when she turned 13, so she's been wearing them for almost a year. As a matter of fact, I just made her an appt for next week for her exam and I'm taking Tony to have his eyes examed as well. Let me know how Tommy likes his glasses. Some kids like them and some dont. But nowadays they have some nice frames, etc. Not like in the old days - thank God I never had to wear them. I just buy reading glasses at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 and they work just as good as any.
Hey, give me a call later and we'll talk. I need to tell you something. I'm getting ready to go to Tony's school for an awards ceremony, then volunteered to help with the party in his classroom afterwards. I feel kinda guilty cuz I used to volunteer at least once or twice a week helping the teacher grade papers, etc. but since all this crap happened I havent been able to. Tony misses his Mom coming to class all the time. At least I get to "keep an eye on him" lol.
Love you.
