Are Seizures A Side Effect??

I have a friend who is struggling with her daughter. She started on Oxys and then switched to heroin. She has relapsed twice. Theis last time, she was using for only 1 week before being caught and supposedly stopped. She stooped cold turkey, with no medical intervention. She had an incident of a seizure, and I am trying to help my friend understand if this could be a medical problem unrelated to her addiction, or a medical problem related to it. Any help out there I would appreciate!

My friend's sister (recovering heroin addict) suffered from seizures during withdrawl. I also know a person addicted to Oxycontin that suffers from seizures during withdrawl.

Thanks for the info. I thought that may be a side effect. I think the daughter was using heavily at some point, but my friend is in denial, too. I am struggling with a child who is an recovered addict, too, but sometimes you see others problems more easily than you see your own. I am going to try and steer my friend and her family in the right direction.
