You're right- people need to know that you care for them- they won't care what you say, until they know you care. At the same time, they have to know they can't continue to use you to cry to. I can't tell you I want to quit drinking as I'm buying a six pack. If I want a desire to stop- I can't continue to feed that desire fuel!
