Atlas.....o/t..disgustinglol

I just remembered your post Christmas day about your dog eating the remains of the deer?
I just got home and my female lab knocked a whole container of Quaker Oatmeal, the big one,and about 2lbs of tamari flavored almonds and 1/4 bag of ground Italian Roast coffee. She has eaten everything thing and her belly is bloated.
I have her outside right now.
I'm going to call the Vet and see if there is any potential problem.
I know what happens to me when I have a double cappucino and oatmeal in the morning.I sure as hell don't want to be cleaning that up.LOL

It seems like she should be hyper with that coffee?
I'm going to check on her.
Tim,

I hope your dog is okay....and, yes, I would think the coffee would make her hyper!

Speaking of dogs, here is a picture of my Christmas present to myself. I lost my baby Smokey back in July at the age of 8. I still miss him so much that it hurts. But these 2 bring me alot of happiness. (And all of the crying and messes on the floor that goes with the territory!)

The brown lab is Bear and the black one is Dozer. I got them at 5 weeks old and they're now 8 weeks old and have more than doubled in size!

And in case anyone forgot what he looks like, here's my Smokey...

Tim...
I too have a lab...he's a yellow lab that will eat anything he can & he does too...I remember going & getting 6 double/doubles for dinner from In & Out burgers and put them on the table, went to the bathroom only to come out and he ate every single one of them...he also will sneak into certain cupboards and he ate a whole big box of chocolate mini donuts...that one scared me because of the chocolate...I've been lucky and he's never gotten sick from all the things he gets into....call the vet and see what they suggest...Lab's are pretty resilent when it comes to their stomachs & eating what they're not supposed to....

I hope your pup is okay, I know how close I am to mine...they're the best dogs..

My two Border Collies really enjoyed an entire salmon that I smoked this weekend. Guess it was my fault for not putting it in the oven (after it came off the smoker, just for storage)...left it on the counter......BIG MISTAKE.

They left the skin....very neatly....no mess, all gone!

Oh well, my husband and I decided it would be good for their coat! We ate Chinese order in! hahahaha....

My boys are Milagro and Buddha. I adore them....and can honestly say, They are the greatest dogs in the world and do NO wrong! hahahahah...they have it pretty good.

Tim...I hope your baby is okay!

Oh no....

LOL.......She should be okay, but check with the vet about the coffee and what to look out for, coffee can be harmful to dogs. I've known people who's dogs have eaten massive amounts and been fine.

Since oatmeal is a dehydrated food it is going to swell up HUGE inside her belly. Do you have a shop vac? LOL Plus two pounds of almonds?!!??

What is up with dogs and gluttony? I don't get it. She'll be paying the price.

I would think that much caffeine would make her bounce off the walls, that is if she is able to move once that oatmeal swells up!

Let me know how how this works out. She's probably gonna puke, be ready for clean up duty.
She's o.k.Thanks guys. The vet said she will probably throw up.She is outside eating grass,so that's good.
I don't want to go look at her barf but I can't stop myself.LOL
It's got to be disgusting.
Maybe I will post a pic
But mixed with the grass I'm sure it will be very colorful. <BEG> I'm glad she'll be ok, Tim. I had a pup that got hold of some caffiene pills once and it wasn't good. But he was pretty small and they were pills, not grounds.

PS Please do not post a pic.
I agree with Kat, I think that a pic is not needed...us females have cleaned up enough throw up and poop to last a lifetime. Just the ingredient list is enough.

Hey guys, reading your stories about your dogs eating anything and everything cracked me up.

Great reading tip...........Marley and Me........I just finished this book and it is GREAT. It's a non-fiction tale about a yellow lab from birth through 13 years of age. He is a wild, uncontrollable, mischevious mess of a dog, but lovable and hilarious. It's written beautifully by a guy who's a columnist in Philly, John Grogan. I highly recommend it for everyone, especially dog lovers.
No picture required. I have seen just about every form of dog vomit, so I will be able to establish a clear picture...LOL I'm glad she's going to be okay.
Tim,
I'd love a picture so feel free to share with me...you can e-mail it <eg>

just jodi: your new pups are absolutley adorable!! they look like human infants on a receiving blanket! i bet you miss your dear sweet smokey, i have 3 dogs a cat and a bunny i adore! i am terrified for the day to come when i have to say good bye. my dogs are 14, 12 and 7. i thank God for everyday i have with them.

for tim and all you dog owners, i dont know if you are aware that if your dog has ingested chocolate or a forbidden food, you can induce vomiting VERY QUICKLY by offering a teaspoon or so of hydrogen peroxide. my dog ate a bag of kit kat's and she willingly took the peroxide and with in seconds i took her outside and she vomited it all up. wouldnt recommend vomiting for any substance that would burn their throat or esophagus such as anti freeze ingestion and remember everyone antifreeze is so appetizing to a dog and is DEADLY! death occurs so quickly too, i always make sure the garage doesnt have any antifreeze on the floor for them to accidently lick or have their paws get coated with it and then they would lick it off their paws.
the vet recommended the peroxide antidote.
i hope your dog is ok tim. jewels/ k-9 lover
grass is for texture...nice linear quality. *another <beg>*

sorry you guys, i am an artist, you know!

tim: how is your baby?
Thanks everyone.
She's fine.She did throw=up yesterday afternoon.No,I didn't take pictures but I couldn't help myself from staring.LOL
With all that oatmeal,I guess I shouldn't have to worry about her cholesterol levels.

Jodi,cute puppies.
Good morning, Tim. Glad your baby is okay. I'm sure she felt better after eliminating all that food from her belly.

LOL...think she learned her lesson? Or would she do it all over today? LOL....I have to wonder how dogs are not programmed to stop eating?!
Thanks Atlas.....This is my second chocolate lab and they are always hungry?I feed them the right amount of food but they act like they are starving and are always scrounging around.
I've had Rottweillers and they weren't like this.
I'm going to have to watch everything I leave on the counter.
I had no ideal she would eat ground coffee. That can't taste good.

She still looks a little bloated.Im taking them up to a park this morning to play.
She needs to take more than 1 dump.
Later,Have a good one.

P.S. last year she ate a whole bar of surf wax.Talk about constipated.LOL
LMAO......All of my dogs seem to have bottomless stomachs, but the weimy is by far the worst offender, and the least finicky eater. The grosser the better. I could tell a dozen more gross dog stories, but I'll spare you.

Try to run it out of her. My weimy gets so excited on the way to the park that he always "eliminates" within 30 seconds of leaving the car.
