Author James Frey who wrote A Million Little Pieces to be on Oprah next Wed. JD
I would love to see him on Oprah. I just read his book. I was off work for a few days, visiting my daughter at her substance abuse treatment center's Family Week. I bought the book to read on the plane and during down time. I read the book in about three days. It was raw, dark, amusing and hopeful. It was a page turner! At the end, I wished the author had written about life after his stint in rehab. I will be great to see him doing well.
I read it also in two days...it just grabs ahold of you and doesn't let go. I just passed it onto my daughter and hope that she finds something in it that hits a nerve with her. The book has so many endearing characters and you fall in love with each and every one of them...and all their warts. Every addict and Everyone that loves them should read this book. It gives you great insight into the struggles they face and you realize just how hard addiction is on a person.
Momrn........He did write a sequel about his life after rehab. It is entitled
Mr Friend Leonard , and available at a bookstore near you!
Carol, Have you read the sequel My Friend Leonard yet? If so did you like it .. I have it but have not started it yet..
Hey PAULA!!! Nope, don't have it yet. I have been too busy to get to the bookstore, or to even get up an order on B&N. But, I have read a chapter from it, and it's going to be very good. Unfortunately, some one who did read it told me the highlights, so it's going to be anticlimatic.
How are you doing? what is this, day 15, 16?
Carol, thanks for mentioning My Friend Leonard. I do remember seeing a mention of that book in A Million Little Pieces. Thank you for reminding me! I will definitely buy it!
