Well, I have to keep taking 1 sub. a day for the next week. Then I go down to a half, he told me to get a pill cuter. To cut the half into two pieces. Then I will only be on 4mgs a day. I told him that I got a free month with a personal trainer. I went yesterday and she worked me really hard, in pain today. He said it is good for this process to work out, but to hard. Cause the pain from being sore will make me want to use. He said it would be better if I just did a lite work out until I am off the program. I also told him about the issue with my hubby, he said that if it happens again he will call my husband and tell him not to bring them in the house. He was kinda mad too. LOL. I thought that his reaction was so funny :-)

Hey....sounds like you did good at the docs. Glad that you told him about the hubby.......that was important. Well you are on your way off aren't you......are shooting at trying to get off in 2 more weeks. Or is it up to the doc when you get off.

I think you are doing great and your positive attitude will help you a lot. Also the exercise will help, it will help your body to produce the natural endorphins that make you feel good. When you take opiates your body kind of goes on strike and stops producing them because the drug does the job. I have even known a few people get addicted to exercise after coming off opiates trying to chase that feel good thing.
Regarding the Sub as I have told you I have done the Sub detox in the past I was only on it 5 weeks starting at 14mg and have in front of me the official detox plan. I dont believe in misleading people so I will tell you a bit of my experience. I was super confident and kept saying to the Dr bring it on, lets get the dose low, this is easy. My nurse kept telling me to take it easy and warning that things can get tough on the last week. He also told me that I would have valium and Britlofex (a bit like chlonadine) prescribed to help me through. I was convinced I did not need it. Here is my taper in Mg each number also represents what I took per day I will start from 8mg because that is where u are at

I felt fantastic down to 2mg then the S*** really hit the fan. I had the poops, shakes, chills, headache, insomnia you name it. Bare in mind that I could see my Dr any time and my prescriptions, know matter how many I have cost about 30 for 3months. I took diazepam and britlofex (really drops your blood pressure and makes you sleepy) I was also begging for more.few days earlier I was laughing and saying this is so easy. Do not let this worry you because everyone is different but I thought I would tell you so you can discuss a back up plan with your Dr especially if it drags on over Christmas when his office may be shut?

Neon, at least you presented an intelligent taper schedule. I'm tapering from Vic's after being on them 90 days (ya, I know I know..no big deal), but I have a schedule too and I've stuck to it. I quit Xanax CT and thats why I'm tapering from this. Everyone is different, and the schedule might need to be adjusted, but thanks for posting yours.

Neon, I jumped off 5 days ago after taking 2mg a few days and didnt have any of those withdrawals, I had what I would describe as mild withdrawals...a little tired..no aches or pains.
I know everyones different, so you never know.

Honestly it was not my plan to scare folk but I do hear a lot calling it a miracle.I sometimes think people read that and get comfortable going back to opiates thinking that they can go on Sub to get off and it will a walk in the park. Also remember I was drinking heavy which messed with it big time. I was just trying to give some balance. Short term low doses a probably the best way to go

But my dr. assured me that if I do as he tells me, that when I stop the sub. if I have any trouble/pain it's nothing some Mortin won't take away.

Just talked to the hubby without giving to much away....he is totally going to ignore the doc making him take 16 mgs a day and just do 8mgs..........because he has been clean for 6 days.......Now Neon I ask you if you think this is wrong let me know. The doc didn't explain how to take it just told him to follow direction on bottle. I know lower is better.........
Misty, I did that too, I was supposed to take 16mg the second day and figured I'd try 8mg and it was great so I stuck to that for a few days and then went down to 4mg. My doctor encouraged me to taper agressively if I could handle it.

There must be know doubt that BA has used in the last few days or he will go into mega withdrawals. I usualy have a drink of water then pop both pieces under my tongue. It still takes me about 20 mins to get them disolved (I think the label says 5-10mins). remember during this time he will not be able to talk, answer the phone ect....so you can say anything he cant answer back lol....sometimes you get a lot of saliva building up....this has some of the Sub in so try to keep it in the mouth for the duration. When it is all disolved you can either spit or swallow lol. It does not matter which it is inafective in the stomach. Being an addict I always swallow trying to get every last drop lol. A lot hate the taste I am told that Suboxone tastes worse than Subutex but I dont mind the taste. It can take between 1-3 hours before effects are felt and should last 24 hours.
