Bad Weather In Alabama-kat, Check In

And anyone else in the storm zone...

Kat, I've tried to call and email...please check in, ok? I won't sleep good tonight unless you do.
Hey Lisa,
all is well in my neck of the woods. An area in Southern Ala got hit pretty hard, though.
I love a good storm and we got that but I'm not too thrilled with tornados.
God, it feels so good to be typing with all my fingers again!!
xxxxxxooooo
Hey there you two,

I'm glad to hear you're safe, Kat, and typing properly again.

Any word from DeNae?

Love,
Gina
Oh thank goodness...so glad it's not in your area...they said on the news that 15 students died at the high school that got hit. Can't remember where though...

New keyboard or did you return and exchange?
Enterprise, AL, Lisa. And I think the count is up to 18 now. Very sad.
DeNae and I are both in North Ala. I haven't seen her but I'm ninety nine percent sure she's okay. I haven't watched the news in a few hours so it's possible that the storm is still going on at her place.
I hit Walmart tonight, Guys. I've already returned a keyboard, two sets of speakers and a mouse. I'm not fooling with them anymore.
Lisa, I'm just in awe of your sensitivity towards seafood, lol.
Shame on you for hurting Gina's appetite today. >grin<
Gina, I'm on my way over to finish up the lobster. Keep it warm, please.
xxxxxoooo

p.s. I just heard on the radio that the count is at seven. I don't understand how that could be. Hours ago it was eighteen. I hope they were able to locate some people and it's not a mistaken account.
Kat,

It wasn't Lisa. I was feeling bad before I saw her email about lobsters screaming. This was my kitchen this evening:

"Oh sh*t, I'm sorry. Oh, sh*t, I'm so sorry. Oh sh*t, oh sh*t. I'm sorry." (Three lively lobsters go into boiling water.)

"Mommy? Are you okay? Can I help with anything?"

"NO! Stay back!"

"They're still moving, Mommy."

"OH MY GOD! THEY'RE STILL ALIVE. Don't look! Don't look!"

Both boys ran back upstairs. I couldn't eat dinner from feeling guilty but gorged later on chocolate truffle torte. Next year we're eating out. Let someone else do the killing, LOL.

I wish I could figure out a way to send a piece of cake to you.

Love,
Gina
The storms from alabama are here now. Things aren't looking good. it's real real nuts out.

Tornados all around my area... pray for us. i'm here alone with kaylin and don't have anyone i can get to come over.

gotta go.
lightning bad

stac

I'm here and I'm fine girls. Thanks for thinking of me. It got rough here this afternoon, but nothing more than a little wind damage. Gina, did you get a package today in the mail? If you didn't I'm going to be pissed at the USPS.

ROTFLMAO at Gina...I just read this post to Jon, he is laughing so hard but wants to know why you are cooking your own birthday dinner. When I explained, he got mad. You've got a fan there Gina....that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time..I can just picture you jumping around throwing those poor helpless creatures in to that scalding, boiling hot water. Shame.

Night girls....
Oh Stac, hang tight, kiddo.
SOS prayers already sent up for you. I'd come stay with you if I were nearby.
Are you afraid of storms? I probably should be but never have been. I usually enjoy them, especially at night. I saw lightening once in Ca the whole time I was growing up and it was minimal. Since I've moved to the South, I've seen it hit the ground right in my front yard! Amazing!
If you get spooked, you're more than welcome to call. I'll hang out on the phone with you. Come back online as soon as you can and let us know that you and Kaylin are okay. ((((hugs))))))

Gina, that's so funny. I suppose there should be a more humane way to have a lobster dinner but they're really not as good frozen. I swear I have never heard one actually scream. They gave me a hateful look with those dead eyes, though.
xxxxxxxxxooooooooooooo
Lisa,

Tell Jon that Allan offered to cook dinner for me tonight but I asked him to take the teaching gig instead. I want to learn to take care of my own birthday celebrations but next year they will not include murder. It was fun having the boys to myself for an evening. They made me a card addressed to, Mother/Aunt/Significant Female Family Member/Matriarch, and signed with their full names, LOL.

Go enjoy your family. Gnite.

DeNae,

I got a slip in the mail today for a package that required a signature. I wondered who that was from. Thank you so much! Ill go to the PO tomorrow and pick it up. Im glad to hear that youre safe.

Stacey,

Ive read that if you dont have a storm cellar and a tornado hits, open all the windows to prevent explosive decompression, then get under the bed or a heavy table, or get in the bathtub. Pile cushions and pillows around you and cover yourselves with blankets, duvets, etc. for protection from flying objects (this is only what Ive read and may be completely wrong). Will your husband be home at midnight, or is the weather too bad for him to drive? Stay safe.

Yes, Kat. They looked at me as they were twitching at the bottom of the pot. I don't know why it bothers me more to kill a lobster than a whole bushel of blue crabs. Oh hey, can I change that gory avatar in your sig line to something slightly more gentle? I've got enough blood on my hands.

Love,
Gina

Oh good, Gina, I'm glad it arrived. Thanks for letting me know.

Stac, its also good to find a closet on an inside wall and get in. Same drill with the pillows. Cover yourself and stay low. I had to haul all of my kids and the dog into the closet today. LOL, it wasn't pretty. If I thought I had to spend a significant amount of time like that, I'd go out in my backyard right now and start digging a storm cellar.

Love,
DeNae

Glad to see you, DeNae!!
I was pretty confindent that our weather was about the same but it's still good to know for sure. I was out and about in it all for awhile. The skies were just wickedly dark. I think there was a total of three other people on the highway, lol.
I'll cook for you on your next birthday, Gina. You can stay in the other room with ear plugs on, lol.
Your boys are as funny as you. They get it honestly, lol.
I jokingly told Kes on her birthday last year that I should get a gift instead of her. I did endure a surgery that day. I got a blank stare and one word, "no".
So how does it feel to have made it to two years? Now that the day is winding down and you have time to take it all in, do you feel different?
xxxxxxxxxoooooooo
Sorry, girls, I crashed early last night.

DeNae, I didn't realize it had gotten bad enough yesterday in your area for you to have to huddle in the closet. I'll be thinking of you and Rainbow Warrior this morning.

Kat, Who knows? By this time next year, you could be living in Chapel Hill. Your possibilities have expanded a thousand-fold. But we can have crab -- they don't scream so loud.

My sister sent me this email about the lobsters: "Well, I hope that the slaughtering of them didnt negatively impact your eating of them. Happy Birthday! (Its too bad so many had to give their lives in tribute.)"

LOL
