Big Step For Me

Hi Everyone,

Well I called a sub Dr. and made an appointment for tomorrow night to see him after work. It was easier to do than I thought. He didn' t make me feel like a loser and drug abuser. He told me if the withdrawls got too bad for me during the day and I couldn't make it until 5:30 pm to call him and he would meet me earlier.

So my next question is where is sub forum? I have a few questions I'd like to ask regarding sub treatment.

Thanks everyone, I'm very excited about this and I feel like I'm on the road to taking my life back. I've been on and off pills and have come to realize I am helpless over them and I need the sub. to help me get over this addiction.

Thanks,

Good for you, Beebah.

Here's the link to the sub message board on this forum.

You can also access it by mousing over the "Message Board" button on the top right hand side of this page, and choosing the Suboxone link from the drop down menu.

Good luck tonight.

Love,
Gina
Hello...I am Rhonda. I just called monday to make an appointment myself but can't be seen till next thursday and that's just the consultation. won't start the sub til the next week. That first phone call is hard mainly b/c you don't know what to expect. I was half scared they were going to treat me like a leaper, but they were very friendly and supportive. Good for You. Keep us posted on how you are doing!
I wonder what to expect from Sub. I think I am imagining it to be a miracle cure that will take away w/d's and anxiety and cravings.. Wouldn't that be nice :)

I just hope my insurance covers it. I've heard it's very expensive and of course I don't have any money for it if it's too much and insurance doesn't cover. I was on the sub board trying to find out how much it costs but nothing was listed. Anyone have any ideas?
Beebah...
Good luck to you...I know nothing about Sub except for what I read on here and a friend sharing with me....

You inquired on websites and I know my really dear friend, Brookie and Carol always recommend the following site...maybe you can peruse the site and see if it answers any of your questions or maybe start a new thread titled like "Sub questions" and I'm sure those with the experiences will be along shortly....

Again, I wish you all the best....

When I called bout the sub program they told me that insurance will not pay for it and it will have to be self pay. Maybe it was just this clinic, but that is what they told me. The cost is different for every doctor, circumstances etc. I can tell you my price quotes as a guide. My first visit will just be a consultation and it's $200.00 payable then. This part is a bit different than some and that is I will be required to come once a week to see the doctor $75.00, one on one therapy session $30.00, and group therapy $30.00. This will be for atleast once a week for the first month. I do not know after that. So $200 for consultation and then $145 weekly for doctor visit and therapy sessions. Please don't hold me to these figures b/c it's different everywhere and the requirements aren't the same.
Anyway, maybe it will help you gage the cost a little bit. Yours could be cheaper or more. I'll pray for cheaper.
Beebah........How long did your doctor say you had to be opioid free before starting the sub therapy? It seems to be different for the different doc's and since I just go for a consultation first i don't know what mine is going to have me do. Just curious bout yours?

i hope the info I left you helped some. Check back in K?
I posted to bring it back to the top for you to find
