i need to tell you a story about the love of my life, my husband.will try keep it short...lol

He has always had great low cholesteral...enviable to the Drs, yet he developed high blood pressure one year and was put on blood pressure meds

.One day he gets a BAD nose bleed that wont stop. Goes into hospital...They check his heart and want to keepo him for observations over night,,,

in the morning they want to do a scan to check for internal bleeding from many years of takintg Volterin anti inflammatories..He had to drink this pukey cement like milkshake before they could scan him and he came out of there white as a ghost and embarrassed that he threw up on a nurses shoes. Nurses looked worried, he looked so pale!!!!!! The nurses pull me aside and tell me he suffered a small heart attack sometime during the scan...( he was transferred immediately via ambulance to a better heart hospital and a nurse visited from the hospiat the scan was taken...4 days later..she kept apologizing so we think they did something wrong at the 1st hospital but can get Drs to tell us......)

i started reading about the heart, anything i could get my hands on. asked for a homocysteine test for hubby a simple blood test,,,,which shows inflammation in the arteries...they are now saying that high homocysteine levels ARE as if not MORE relevant than high blood pressure to predict future heart attacks.

His test comes back..yes hes too high.

To treat it..he goes on Folic Acid ( 4 mg) Vitamin B6 (250mg) and Vitamin B12 ( 1000 mcg chewable)

Guess what in 4 months of taking those vitamins...his blood pressure starts to drop..they cut his Blood pressure meds by half....1 month later....they have to cut it in half again.....1 month later....HES TAKEN OFF HIS BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS COMPLETELY!!!!!

His blood pressure remains LOW...Im hoping and praying he'll live to 100.


I wish i had known that this high blood pressure can be treated by treating the SOURSE of the problem before........so please ask your Dr. about getting your homocysteine levels checked...oh yeah and at the same time a C-Reactive protein check.....you could save yourself SO much grief and future poblems by looking into these NOW..

I do have high blood pressure and take Novasc and Quinnipril. Still is moderately high 140/85 or so.

Since learning about it and having such great results... Im mad that more doctors are not testing for homocysteine levels and the C reactive protein tests..its a SIMPLE BLOOD TEST.

Can you imagine using simple vitamins that can actually fix the CORE and ROOT of high blood pressure without using the "band-aide affect of B/P/ meds


they should be telling ALL patients about this..

Yeah I can imagine it Ali. Seems to me that a lot of drs. just write a script when there are a lot of good alternatives out there.

Either they don't bother to research that kinda stuff or they maybe got something going with the drug companies??? I hate to think that tho. Ya never know.

I have a counselor who suggests (gently of course) different vitamin supplements and minerals that have seemed to help me

Now I will call my g.p. and demand to have those tests!!!!!!
