I am sincerely grateful and touched right now. My sister's friend (who by the way has 7 years sober) offered to sell me her 2000 Ford Explorer Sport for 500 dollars!!!! Over 4000 below blue book. Oh my goodness...I haven't even imagined having a car...where would I get the thousands of dollars it would cost me to get into something reliable and dependable. Oh my goodness...I am in shock and gratitude for her generosity!!!
I totalled my car September 5, 2007 while under the influence of Ambien. I haven't had a car since. I truly that it would take a "miracle" to get another car because of my monthly salary and monthly obligations....Today I was granted a miracle...God doing for me. Like I said, I couldn't even fathom how I'd get a car and kinda resolved to the fact that I likely wouldn't own one for a couple years...and then this! I am so truly grateful and feel so very blessed.
Another wonderful tidbit from my day...I went to a new meeting, a womens meeting, and it was excellent. Now that I will have wheels I will have the opportunity to go to a variety of meetings!!!! I've been going to meetings a few blocks from my house at the Salvation Army. Yes, a meeting is better than no meeting at all but I will admit, it was uncomfortable because I was the only female going to the meetings...and because it is a treatment facility, there isn't a lot of oldtimers...most the men have a few days to a few months sobriety. So I can't wait to experience new meetings!
Gosh, I am so grateful.
That is wonderful Zipper! I am so glad that things are working out for you. Enjoy your new found freedom. God bless and take care
It works if you work it and you are working it! The Promises will come true, sometimes quickly and sometimes slowly, but you are taking action and things are starting to happen. Isn't it wonderful to be present for life now? I am so glad you are posting here and sharing your story with all of us......by the way, the permanent bridge on the right side of my mouth fell out Friday night, so I can relate to your toothlessness ~ it should be fixed tomorrrow!
VW...thank you.
I sure empathize about teeth issues, as you know. The two roots that were pulled Monday got infected...It has been a bit of a nightmare but thank goodness for antibiotics! :)

I'm so happy for you that you received this blessing!!! You are such a ray of sunshine for people. It's no wonder miracles are happening to you.
I read about what went on with your temp. sponsor. Just wanted you to know that I believe your HP is at work guiding you and inspiring you Zipper. Also give yourself some credit to as your past experiences definitely count. They are there to teach you. Looks to me like you learned something to. Looks like your serious to about getting into action.
Hopefully your new set of wheels along with prayer and meditation will guide you, inspire you in meeting the right sponsor. Ask your HP/God for inspiration. Then you will begin to intuitively have the right thoughts and decisions.
I'm doing step one now with my sponsor. Until you are given one, find one. If you want you can borrow mine and do what she's suggesting if you want. In the morning read pages 86-88 from BB. On pg 86 start on the Awakening the third paragraph down.
Then she asked me to write in simple sentences not paragraphs how my life became unmanageable from alcohol. My relationships, health, job, finances, and legal. I was suppose to receive a handout last wk from my home group from her but I've been really sick. I will see her tomorrow night and pick it up. With her guidance about doing it. Let me know if your interested. It's perfectly fine if your not. I can give you my e-mail if you want it. She has 12+ yrs of sobriety in AA and every time she's spoken something in my spirit feels moved.
Congratulations on your new set of wheels. How wonderful it is that a super kind person was placed in your path in a your time of need. You deserve this Zipper!
Take Care,
Chris

Lookinup...thank you for letting me borrow your sponsor. Love the idea about just writing sentences about the unmanageability. :)
Yes, the blessings are growing exponentially! First, I found out yesterday that my first DUI drops off soon and my insurance is actually going to be a lot less than I thought, I just need to come up with 150 to initiate the policy. I figured, well I'll just wait another paycheck after I purchase the car.... Then...I got an email from my mother yesterday. My grandpa sent me a birthday check about a month ago (March 13 was my bellybutton birthday) but it got sent back to him. He had an old address of mine. He got my new address from my mom and the check is on the way. IF I had gotten the check right around my birthday I would have spent it on some frivolous items or ANOTHER pair of jeans (my sister always teases me about all the different jeans I own, lol) but god's timing, I am getting the check that I can use toward the car insurance. WOW. COOL.
This illustration will be a great one to reflect back on to "see" just what happens when I am God-centered, not running the show, and let God be the director....cool, good, amazing stuff.
