RE: Craig Nakken's excellent book: ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY.....
Have been reading the aforementioned book....so EXCELLENT. Now need to ask about the addictive personality NOT addicted to drugs, sex, gambling, & sober from alcohol for 33 months, but to the "trance" of escape from grief/mourning, all the very deep pain of loss, and accompanying detrimental behaviour patterns & stages that have emerged. Is there anyone out there who acknowledges similar escapes into TV or anything that promotes escape from responsibilities due to the pain produced? Please help. Substance abuse (alcohol) was a problem, but the problem now is the acknowledged stages of addiction as cited in this revealing book....not substance but the exchange into other behavioral patterns. Is there ANYone in Heartland/Central Indiana? Thank you for reading.
There is nothing wrong with a healthy escape.
