Browndog ?

Hey Harry,

Just wanted to say HI and hope you were feeling a little bit better - I usually am reading YOUR posts early in the morning. So ARE you feeling any better? This time of the year seems to be a trigger for AlOT of people - I heard it also at a meeting the other night.

So, are you freezing your butt off up there? It was beautiful (after it warmed up some yesterday). Wasnt quite as cold this morning- but you'd think these kids around here were in NYC - all in hats, scarves, mittens, etc. My Dad was laughing. I remember when I first moved to Miami in 69. It was mid Dec - just like now. My parents had bought a new house with a "built in" swimming pool, diving board, slide, etc - us kids were so thrilled - we went swimming the first day we arrived - it must have been in the 60s - the neighbors came out in their "fur coats" and looked at us like we were INSANE!! LOL I can still remember that day.

Well, just hoped you were feeling a little better. Have a great day:o)

Love,
Marie
Marie- When I moved to Florida from Chicago at the age of 40, I too had a pool and the whole 9 yeards. But at the place where I worked, people would be wearing coats and sweaters and I'd be in a shirt. They were like "Aren't you freezing?" I'd say "No..what is WRONG with you people". It was pretty funny. It took a good three years before I myself started to feel it. On the 4th year, I moved back to Chicago, so I REALLY felt the cold..haha
it sure didnt take long for my yankee blood to thin out. im cold, but ur right, some of these people think they are in a f'n blizzard. I would love it if it would snow bad here for 1 day. I'd just walk up to the corner and watch all these idiots, who cant drive in the best of conditions, smash into each other more then they already do. gotta get to work, overslepped today. im doin ok, thanx, could probably doing better, but im gettin a grip, i think. wifes bit..in, shes off today, & it kind of takes the fun out of procratinatin.
Down here in Sebring, we have all the "snowbirds" - mostly old, retired people. They drive me nuts - they cant drive and trying to find a parking space at WalMart now is IMPOSSIBLE!!! You see these 80 -90 year old people getting out of their cars!!!! Not to be mean, but for Gods sake, they cant even hardly walk!!! There's always alot of accidents around here this time of the year - I cant wait for them to go home.

Love,
Marie
Like I always have said, in Florida, you are either 18 or 80...haha..there is NO in between...one of the reaons I moved back was because EVERYONE on my block was like 75 years old. No one for my kids to play with...Driving around, you either hear the boom box music or don't see the head.....SCARY! haha
Hey Marie,

You people in Florida are so lucky. It's freezing here. It's so cold your nostril stick when you breathe. Marie, did you get your shopping done? I haven't. I'll do a little more tomorrow morning and finish up next week sometime. I heard it's supposed to snow on Monday. We'll see.

Love,
Liz
Liz,

No - we're going down to Miami to finish Christmas shopping one day next week. I havent been back to Miami in about 6 months! Thats the longest I've ever been away from there. I can visit some friends and stuff while I'm there so it should be fun!! Have a great day, Liz.

What part of Florida?
Marina, I lived in Clearwater! (Tampa)
Hey Marie,
I have heard of Sebring but I can't remember how far it is from me. I live in Port Richey about 45 minutes from Tampa. I just moved here from Brandon about 1 years ago. I love Florida been here 10 years and we have the best weather! It is just starting to warm up some today! Anyway just wanted to jump in and say hey since we are having all this Florida talk... Rae
Ps. Danny you should know where Sebring is from me since you used to live so close to where I live now?? Rae
Rae- Sebring is down Route 25..about 1 1/2 hours from Tampa..
Thanks Danny,
I have heard of it many times but just didn't remember where it was.Hell sometimes I don't even remember where I am it...lol...So how are you feeling today? Are you still doin the tapper thing? Isn't it so much fun? I hate it actually I can't wean down to much more hydro than what I have already done but just stopping altogether and saying god bye to an old friend is hard,if ya know what I mean.Well you may not since you have only used for a short time but it's sad when you find comfort in a pill.Anyway enough of that before I get depressed. Have a great day.Hey what is your e-mail Danny?I saw it the other day bull something? I was going to send ya a picture of me and my family!!! Rae
Hey Rae -

Sebring is right in the middle - Central FL. I'm a little NW of Lake Okeechobee. The weather is absoluetly beautiful today. I had to go over to Brandon to cash in a $1,000 winning scratch off ticket that I won "Coral Reef" (name of ticket). That was the closest spot to cash it in, becasue in the stores they will only cash up to $600 I think. That was a nice drive. Especially to pick up $1,000 bucks!!!! I moved up here from Miami about 3 years ago. I miss the "action" but had to get my kids out of there, if you know what I mean.

Love,
Marie
Rae, my email is bullwinkle343@aol.com- Heck I don't know where I am half the time..haha..send me those pics! I'll send some back
Yeah your to far away from me. You and I live close enough to Marina that we should go jump on her flight with her to the bahamas, lol. Yeah I could use a 1,000 bucks right about now. I know anything over $600.00 bucks you have to claim on your taxes which makes it more difficult to cash. I know what you mean about Miami it is very fast paced and crazy. I was born in Hialeah,Fl real close to Miami and then move to Dayton Ohio and back to Florida where I have been for 10 almost 11 years now. i love it here to. I would never ove back up north, only to visit friends. I usually go up in the month of July so I don't have to freeze to death. Well it was nice talking to ya. Take care! Rae
Rae, I should of stayed..but I was "forced" back..haha
Danny you got forced back huh? Well you can always take vacation here if you can't come to live... By the way, I downloaded what you sent but your face(ugly face)as you said didn't pop up... So I will try and mess with this stpid computer later,it has it's share of problems too! Always freezing up on me for some reason. Driving me insane. Well I will chat with you all later, gotta run and do something with my day! Rae
Rae-
You have got to be kidding me - I say "Miami" because over the years I did live all over Miami, but when we moved from NY I lived and grew up in Hialeah!!!!! How old are you again??? Its such a small world - we may know some of the same people - did you go to school there? This is amazing!!

Love,
Marie

I went to Meadowlane Elementary
Filer Jr. High School
Hialeah Sr. High School
Miami-Dade Comm. College

My first job was at the McDonalds on W. 49th Street - the main street where Westland Mall is. Do you know any of this stuff??
Browndog, sent you an email a little bit ago..... Just wanted to let you know it was from me and not some spam
Marie-o, you won 1000, good 4 u. i dont think ive won over 2 bucks in florida, didnt think anyone one. in buffalo i used to win on crazy 8's, a couple times 100.00, i remember goin to the methadone clinic on a sunday in nfalls, winning 100 lottery, then walin across the bridge to the casino in canada & at the time it was 150 canandian. that day a lost, but i sure am livin a lot of memories recently as a result of communicating on this board. a couple years before we moved south, christmas was around the corner, i was real low on the dough (at this point my business went under or was about to, i dont remember) & i had at most a couple hundred. went to the casino, i was winnin a few hundred (canadian) & played this game called let it ride. you make a minimum of 3 $5. bets, & can take 2 down , one at a time, if ur unlikely to end up w a pair of tens or better. after 4 cards i had something like a 2, 3, 4, 6, of spades. i said to the dealer ok, flip up a spade (for a flush which paid about 13 to 1 so i would win $165) or a five, which paid about 9 to 1. (if neither came up i lost the $15.00. she flips up the 5 ove spade, a straight flush, paid 200 to 1, or $300.00 canadian, which came out to about $2,200 or so real money. it was a good christmas.
