Methadone Formula Raises Overdose Concerns In B.C.

Whadda think of this ???
hey Jack,
If I am correct the methadose they speak of is what we get in our doses. What were you given at the klinic?

At one clinic when we first went on MMT we were given the tablets that were split to the correct dose and added to and orange? drink. Chalky to take but worked just fine. I always wondered how accurate it was using tablets that needed to be broken into pieces.

At our clinic everything is done by computer, it measures out each individual dose as directed by the dose nurse. While she adds the water to my take-home bottle and puts the lid on it the next dose is being added to the next bottle and so on.

To my knowledge, the entire time we have been at our regular clinic we have had the "cherry kind" or methadose. I will show this to our dose nurses when I go in next week and ask them about the different kinds that are available and see what other kind of info I can get. I also will be meeting with our clinic manager so I will discuss it with her as well.

This article makes it sound like the methadone is given out in pharmacies and/or prescribed by doctors rather than given out in clinics like in the US. Canada may have the same way of dosing opiate addicts like they do in the UK. No clinics per se, you just get a script from a MD and go to your local pharmacist or chemist daily. That's why they are concerned about the strength.
Interesting that they are making it sound like its a whole new drug. Maybe for Canada, obviously, it is.
I used to get the clear methadone... .before that ..cherry...before that >the diskettes..
Now ,,well,, Im not getting anything... But 125th still has the cherry
