Good Morning All,
Just checking in today on my 75th day of sobriety! Yippe! I can't believe I've made it this far. There have been a few days ( for some reason these days were in a row and not spread out) that I have been REALLY tempted to drink. I made it thru those days; although tough. Still trying to take my inventory but having a hard time with that. Not sure what steps I need to do this properly. Anyone with some sobriety time an AA experience might be able to help me. I would appreciate it. One more thing, sometimes when I go to AA meetings, I wish I hadn't gone. This is ONLY because all we talk about is drinking and it brings back thoughts and cravings sometimes. Whereas if I had not gone to the meeting, my mind would be full and busy with other things.
Anyone else had this happen? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks and God Bless and Keeep you All-- ONE DAY AT A TIME!
Trimmer
Congrats on 75 days!
If you are going to meetings where all they are talking about is drinking it's time to find another meeting. In most meetings such talk would not be tolerated. Discussions should be about recovery, not about the "good old days".

Congrats on 75 days! Amazing.
Yup, way to go--now get a sponsor. It's difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. When you start taking inventory around the room it's time to take a look why--and someone who's done this before can help.
Congradulations on 75days Trimmer yyyyyaaaaaaaayyyyy
I found once i started listening to the other things that people were talking about that were happening as a result of there drinking i started making some headway, but if they only are sharing about glorifying drinking then yeah i would look for a change of scenery, also have a yarn to Val via email if you can as she may help

Hi Trimmer,
First off Congratulations on 75+ days of sobriety well done.
I've been in meetings where there has been to much talk of drinking going on. Yes, It triggered a craving to drink. I think this and having some rough days in early sobriety is quite normal. You can counter how it's effecting you when it's your time to share. Of course then there can be a cross talk meeting without the cross talk. I've found those can get pretty heated though, just a warning.
Yet, perhaps someone may see that their words are troubling others. Maybe they will care maybe they won't. I'm fortunate that there are many meetings where I live. So, I have options to choose from. Not all meetings are created equal in my eyes. If you can move on. It's important anyway to get out of your box. Learn from other people by listening to new people. There's a wealth of teaching out there.
I've heard in the rooms if you can make it to 90 days it will get easier. It does. I've only had one really bad day since then. You are doing great. Thanks for checking in Trimmer.
God Bless You Trimmer
