I have a stupid question. Are people free of everthing on here? When we quit do we quit or go to other "aids". I am so happy I didn't find something else to taper with. It does not work, the other drugs are just that. Keeping that addiction going, (valium, xanax, sub, methadone). I am staying with an old zoloft script, but is it a narcotic? This is looking like a merry go round. I hope not.
Dear Bren,
There are member here in all stages of addiction, actively using, tapering, detoxing and recovering addicts...
Some also have other issues for example, bi-polar, anxiety disorders, depression etc. for which other meds may or may not be Rx'd. The benzos such as xanax, valium, I think should be held by someone other than the addict if possible. They are addicting and can be very dangerous....
Sub and methadone? Are simply tools to help addicts who are struggling and need this tool...They have the strong desire to stop the insanity but for some reason or other need this tools to help them reach that goal...Uhhh, I have the feeling you will get many answers to your question...
And no your antidepressant is not a narcotic....
Congrats on your clean time,
Jan

Zoloft is fine in my opinion
Oh and Brendidi?
Just wanted to say that this was NOT a stupid question :-) I think it shows how much you are concerned about your wanting to do the right thing!

This was the first day I actually got mad! I read all this stuff, peple wanting to wean and all, and it's commendable, if you have a doctor patting you on the back. Try NO doctor, NO insurance, but the whole process started legally, till the doctors got up to 240 ES a month. They dropped it to 60, then 30 500's. I was already hooked, so hows that for a fair taper? Yes, I looked at easier ways to say enough allready, but they let me hang so s***ty, I thought "i'd show them" I was cabable of self medication. The last time I was in the doctors for vicoden, he said "it looks like you screwed yourself" and added some nasty notes in the comments file. I'm sure he pegged me as a seeker. If I wasn't such a jerk back then, it wouild have been my stop time. Instead, I fung message boards on how to order the crap online. I couldn't even believe how easy it was. 120 norcos overnight, 300.00 who needed the doctor anymore
I hope I never face charges on that, lol! least I won't have to detox in jail
At some point Brendid, you'll realize that it isn't the drs who you blame, it's the disease. Hang in there, from the sounds of your posts, you're doing great.
