Good Morning,
This is I first time admitting this to outsiders, so I may ramble. Today my 22 year old daughter is coming home from 4 days of detox in a hospital and 3 days in a clinic (insurance will not cover any longer) My husband and I took her to the hospital last Friday thinking she was have a problem with her low blood sure - it runs in the family. She fooled us, she was 4 times over the legal limit. With that they would not discharge her. The next day it all came out she has be drinking for the last 2 years almost everyday. I found out so much horror that she has been going through and I never even knew. I am so scared for today and I don't really know what to do. BTW she does have ADHD and that are also helping her with that. So much more but I just don't want to rant. Any advise please.
We grasp at straws in the beginning.
We think we know what the problem is and what the solution should be.
The world standard for recovery from alcoholism & addiction is AA's The 12 Steps
It works and it's FREE .....
yet it is the very last thing that alcoholics/addicts want to do.
The 12 Steps are also found in the programs of Al-Anon and Nar-Anon for the family/friends of alcoholics/addicts
Please read AA's short text on the importance of getting clean/dry.

Please read AA's short text on how important it is for us to "hit bottom" first

Alcoholics/addicts have psychological problems that require spiritual solutions.
Most of us nearly kill ourselves trying to prove the above statement wrong.
I hope your child has been given the gift of DESPERATION and grasps AA/NA.
It saved my life in 1989 and continues to bolster me today on a daily basis.
There is a passage in AA's BIG BOOK that describes our condition so well -
"We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition."
All the best.

Worried Momma, I can't understand your worry. For 2 years she has been drinking and that's very scary. How is she doing now, since she is getting discharge from hospital.
