I'm still around, and OK. Thanks for the shout out. I have been in hibernation mode I guess. This semester, my work load has really picked up and the principal has been a bit of a jack-hole. I have been letting the principal bother me slightly more than I should, its not just me, there are many others that he treats rudely as well. Oh well, having a job is a nice problem to have. I just need to get up off my butt a little more often. ....

A jack-hole is a cross between a jack-a** and and a**hole, which are in turn quite closely realated to an ingneranus which is someone who is both ingerant and an a**hole. :)

Cookster, I am glad you are kind of ok. Guess there are always gonna be jackholes (!!) to deal with in life. Look at is as strengthening to your character.
And stop giving yourself a hard time! I have noticed before that you beat yourself up for not getting off your butt and doing stuff. I see you doing it again here. Hey, you work hard, and you are keeping sober - that is to be congratulated. Never mind that you don't do this that or the other. Look at the positive things about your life. Gosh I feel like this is turning into a lecture - didn't intend that!! Be cool man!! Don't be a stranger!

Thanks for your kind words. I admit that I get frustrated with myself for not accomplishing more in my spare time. Yes I do need to step back and prioritize a little I suppose. In our (imperfect) system a teacher's work load isn't divided equally between the two semesters; this is my "heavy" semester. I suppose its ok to feel a little "blah" after a winter of short days. On the other hand letting myself isolate isn't healthy.
Oh well, the days are getting longer, I do feel my energy levels increasing. Spring Break is a mere 5 teaching days away and I am getting out of town. I'm planning a road trip for summer holidays. I hope to take in a couple of blue grass festivals and visit some gold rush towns up north (Atlin, Dawson City and Skagway) , it should be fun! In the mean time, I'll take it ,

Gosh, yes, isn't it nice when the days start getting longer!! This winter has been difficult for alot of people I think. It is light here in the UK until about six o clock now, and I for one can really feel the difference. Didn't notice when I was drinking, but being sober is lovely because it means being more in tune with the seasons and nature. I love being sober. It gets tough as we all know, but it is so worth it.
I agree that isolating isn't the best thing. At least not all the time. Sometimes I need to just be by myself, to recharge though. My wise sister said that extroverts get their energy from other people. Introverts get their energy from silence. I think that is great and very true!! Do you still go to the pub with your friends for your tankard of apple juice?
So good to hear you making some plans for your holidays. Like the sound of the bluegrass festivals. I saw a bluegrass band not long ago and thought they were great!!

Enjoy your spring break and when you are in the car put the music on and sing.....out loud yyyeeeeehhhhaa
I say this because it works for me because sometimes when i drive i allow to much think time in my head and if it is resentful it only stuffs me up and not the person that pissess me off. The principal will always be there untill another rung needs to be climbed on the principal ladder and use the programme that keeps you sober and grateful on the principal:)
Keep that E.S.H a flowin as your recovery keeps a helpin my growin:)
And as someone very wise would say One day at a time
