Lisa you posted,
When you get tired of the bs, let me know what I can do to help. Just what are you waiting for?
I am tired of the bs......... are all aa/na tied into together or are they seperate or both. Can I find just womens groups are are they men and women just together?
I am tired of the bs.....
Do they cost anything I mean are there dues or something, I have heard that you said you have to pay for a big book or something can you go and not have to purchase one, I am tired of the bs.. or is there a way to get a copy of it with out purchasing one. Money is really a problem, I was going to go to counseling even had a appointment but chickened out, I really think aa/na would be better that way I have other people there be with that are like me an addict.. ok I am tired of bs... and thank you in advance of anything you can tell me... oh yeah do you have to talk in the meetings right away or can you just listen for awhile.
Paula,,,,,excuse me for butting in ....just wanted to show you this.....
Carol you could never be butting in.... That is a really cool one I have been looking at the web page you sent me I love it...
Paula... there are no fees. Most meetings ask for a dollar but only for those that can afford it. No one is expected to pay.
Tell me where you are and I'll send you a meeting finder in your area. There are both women's meetings and mixed. I prefer the women only meetings only because I feel safer and less intimidated (yea, me, I know that's funny) sharing. NA and AA are seperate. But both are excellent. If you don't like one meeting, you find another. Sometimes a meeting will be great one day and then not so great the next. Just depends on the people and who shares what. The rule of thumb is to take what you need and leave the rest. You are not required to talk either. Not until your comfortable. Just know, that they are all like you..just like the people on this board and that they're story is your story.
You can purchase a book at the meetings, but again, if you can't afford it, just tell them and they'll make sure you get one.
I know what you mean about the bs. It's just time.
Let me help.

That would be great Lisa, I am in Cumming Georgia.. I think there is one not far from me but not sure if that is what it is or not.. there is a lock on the door of it and you have to punch in some numbers to get in that door my sister said it may be one but I can't figure out why they would have that kinda security, any way, any way you can help me I would appreciate it.. and yes your help is welcome I am tired of the bs.. but I am scared at the same time and I am exspecially afraid of the meetings but to bad I want to try this, I want to go I want to learn how.
Actually it's Rachel and Sammy that have the info on meeting finders so I will ask them....
