Cricket Escapee

Another thing I have found to do instead of TV.

Share a goofy story with you.

We have baby geckos, we feed them baby crickets. I spent a good deal of sober time on the floor searching, capturing the escaped ones. I guess I missed one.

We have a very LOUD cricket behind our fridge. If I close my eyes I can pretend I'm at summer camp. LOL I think it's kinda soothing.

My husband thinks I might need a few more days at the hospital.

hey, I think sobriety is all about your attitude, perspective and a little creativity.

:-)
I love lizards! I used to keep iguanas! I had 2 one mature 5ft'er named pete (big mofo) and one baby 1ft'er named malcom.... unfortunatley they caught some sort of illness after I had them a few years and both died :( . I've been saying for years though I'd like to build a proper terrarium and get back into that hobby... i'm thinking chameleon's this time :) . They're so cute

Mr,B
Do it !!!! :-) Whatcha waiting for ?

We looked at getting Iguanas. maybe later. Then my son wanted a bearded Dragon !!!!! But a more docile critter is better for our son, right now who's ten.

We have a creamsicle cornsnake too. She escaped once and I had to take her to the vet. :-( She had nasty burns/scrapes all over her top side. but she's tough ! I found her in the laundry room. People get so nervous about snakes, they're actually very calming when you hold them. And easy to take care of.

These baby leopard geckos are the cutest little guys !
I worked in a day program several years ago. We treated folks with severe mental illnesses.
On a Sat. 2 of the therapist covering group decided to let the pet Iguana out for a walk.
They let the 4 ft lizard loose in a group room. After several hours of attempting to recapture it for its 6ft. terrarium. They gave up and called one of their husbands.
the Iguana would hiss and slap its tale. Neither one of these ladies were very big.
The husband ended up with cuts and abrasions wrestling the sucker. lol.
That was one unhappy lizard, haha.
Our own version of the crock hunter.
I still tease these girls over this, thanks for making me think of this story.

Hey I am enjoying my first cup of coffee in over 2 weeks. I tried to be good and lay off the caffiene, but half a cup.... oh so much for rationalizing, now studies say 1 cup is good for us right????
Good Morning Ladies! That was a great story Jamv! You still have me chucklin.LOL
We have a bunny at our offices who hops around in the back & if they want to go back & see it or if we are sure its someone who wont stomp on the bunny then we let it out front to visit. He is our therapy bunny! Our one guy who has a day off would always have to stop at the office with his staff & sometimes he would get bored & have a behaviour, well that never happens now that we have floppy. One time Floppy was on his lap & he was pettin it & suddenly the bunny jumped off. He cracked up for like 10 minutes over that. Then we got home & he told everyone about the bunny jumping in the air & he would just be laughing hysterically. You havent heard a laugh till youve heard his! LOL I myslef have always had frogs & right now its a huge albino aquatic frog. Its as big as my fist & from what ive read its gonna be with me till its 30 LMAO right now its 6.
Good to see everyone!

I was flipping through this months' discover magazine, there's a picture of an ornate horned frog. Dubbed "a mouth with legs" says the caption. It buries itself in leaves and just eats whatever walks by. I swear this is the most funniest picture I've seen in a long time. I wish I could show you guys !

Have a good day, may you giggle occasionally throughout.
Iguanas are not very docile usually, unless you spend a lot of time training and tameing. They can really bite hard but its the tail whips you gotta watch out for, a full grown iguana could cause some real damage (especially to a cat). they are beautiful animals to just watch. You also need alot of room for them, I wouldn't want to put one in anything smaller then 6ftx6ft. You could get away with smaller, but its not very nice. Bearded dragons are pretty animals too, smaller, not the same as iguana's though :)

My brother has an albino corn snake that is about 4.5ft long, that is a beautfull creature! I don't like watching it eat though! luckily they only eat (and go to the bathroom) once a month. Amazingly easy to look after (even he can do it :) :)

Edit: just searched google images for ornate horned frog pics, they are cool lookin little suckers, i want one

Edit#2 Run cricket run! Run for your life!
animals and reptiles are very cool. we just got rid of my dauhgters florida cooter water turtle about 4 or 5 months ago. he had got so big that the next size tank we would have had to get him was a 100 gallon tank, and just not enouhg room.
we got him for her when she was in 7th grade, he was the size of a half dollar, and when we released him he was about 4 pounds and about 9 inches in diameter. we had him in a 50 gallon aquarium and it just really wasn't big enough for him. But anyways it was really neat to set and watch him just swim around and eat, really relaxing. but we released him into a city pond not to far from our house, which is really nice. I think he probably likes it there. I really love animals of all kinds, especially dogs.(unconditional love) no matter who or what your doing.I have a big dog outside named nakita. She a akita/st.bernard mix. she was 65 pounds at 6 months old. shes now about 100 or so pounds and a very beautiful dog. Inside we have a little black poodle named molly(shes my baby). I wished i had my poop in a group when I was younger, i really would of enjoyed being a veterinarian. I get a lot of laughs out of her, just watching how she runs is funny, and boy does she like to play. They really have their own personality. I've found that when I'm having a bad day or irritable, just picking her up and holding and petting her really calms me down.

sooo everyone get a dog. lol
goodnight all
much love

My litle guy and I rented Benji last night. We both love dogs. Unfortunately we have allergies/asthma is our house. :-) It's confirmed, pets are good for the soul.
I love your expression "poop in a group" that's a good one.

P.S. hey, maybe you could volunteer at an animal shelter/pet store to get your fix. :-)
we have a zoo at our house of pitiful animals that know one else would want. lol
My damn chihuahua bit my son on the chin last night. I think it hurt my son's feelings worse than anything. He has now bit both my kids on the chin, not breaking skin, but he is almost 8 years old. We inherited him back in April, he has gotten much better except for his moodiness. I have "trained" my kids the best I can, but dogs will be dogs and kids will be kids.
funny thing is when he is bad and you get onto him, he will sit and growl at you. What would Ceaser the dog whisperer say??? I love that show.
