Things are going well, I guess. My back started hurting really bad at work last night (because of the job) and today it's even worse......
I didn't take any pain meds, but I wanted to..... Ended up having to leave early because I couldnt' be around all the drugs.. ... Don't know what I'm going to have to do in the future because I still have to work there.......

It doesn't sound like that is a very good environment for you to be in. When I first got clean, years ago, I was a cocktail waitress. It was the 80's and coke was abundant. What I had to do was to become a dinner waitress and get my a** out of the bar and away from the drugs. I also was able to work decent hours that way. I was always off by 12:00 instead of 3:00. I don't know what your options are but just remember to put your sobriety first. Don't let it take a backseat. Pray for the right answers to come. Luckily, in my job today, narcotics are not floating around. They used to be when I first started but now it's mostly cholesterol medicine that is abundant, lol. You'd think being in and out of Dr.'s all day I'd encounter it but I don't. That's the good news. Anyway, just checking on you and wanted to let you know I am thinking about you, girl.

Two years or so ago, when I switched my major to Marketing and wanted to go into pharmecuetical sales, I remember asking someone, "Do you think I'll get free samples of Vicodin?" It was meant more as a joke because I had just started doing them and I thought "Wouldn't that be funny if THAT happened..." Now I watch those commercials and talk to others in the field and know what drugs they're mainly pushing --- you're right ---- cholesterol, allergy meds, boring stuff... LOL
No, I can't stop my job right now. I've already started looking for another day job, but it's hard because (a) I'll be going to school all day on T & Th, so I can't work full time, (b) I have to get off by 3pm b/c I have to pick my son up from school (unless I start making A LOT of money & can hire someone to do that), and © I'm so far in debt from working that Internship that I have to get caught up first.
I'm scared..... I think I can be strong - let's face it, there are drugs in ANY job you get into. That Internship I worked, the boss did more drugs than anyone I have ever met and even died from too many pills..... but the nightclub/stripclub business, it's like being in a candy store. If someone doesn't have what you're looking for, they say things like "But I can make a phone call & he can bring it up here...."

I think of those poor girls that do this and have NOTHING to fall back on.... I have a husband that makes excellent money (but you know how it is.. the more money you make, the more bills you have), I almost have my degree, I have my real estate license..... Some of these girls ONLY have their looks - they have no high school education, 2 or 3 kids, no husband..... they are BEAUTIFUL, but have nothing to fall back on when they start getting older.....
I HAVE to get out of there and I'm working on that..... There comes a point where you have to say "Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen...Elvis has left the building..."
Thanks for worrying about me..... Might have to start bringing my laptop to work with me so that I can get on here a few times a night for support...
