day 1....have tried so many times to cut back,moderate, play all the games that make you think you dont have a drinking problem, when i KNOW i do. have made a commitment to myself....and today is my sobriety date!!!

I am now on day 9 and have found this site VERY SUPPORTIVE. If you look back to 5/24/06 which was my first post, you can see my journey up to today.
What helped, what didn't, all the support, encouragement and prayers I received.
Start on 5/24 and read when you get a chance of my daily questions, delimas and experiences and the responses I received to each post from then thru today.
I hope it will help and give you a sense of where I was and the journey til now.
This site and my faith saved me from despair and probable death.
The people here are just terrific and you will find encouragement and support here more than you can imagine. Congratulations! You have taken the first step of the long journey of recovery. Please keep posting as it does help.
Don't be ashamed to express your fears, concerns and feelings as we have all been thru them. I can assure you. You are in a safe place.
