I will keep this short because I am on my last legs...K willingly went into an out-of-town Intensive Inpatient Treatment facility today (it addresses behavorial problems as well as chemical dependency issues and is totally 12 step based oriented)....what a long day...needless to say the hearing went in her favor, but she had three choices: 1) go to this IIT; 2) go to an out-of-state year long program or 3) hit the streets....guys, it was so tough and I can update you more tomorrow if you are interested, but I don't want to bore you with all the drama and chaos that transpired today. I am less than impressed with the Social Services system in California, that's for sure. Thank you all for lifting us up in your prayers and for all of your assistance at this most difficult time in our lives. I remembered something Bob posted (he use to post here a while back) and I kept repeating it today, just to keep it simple: "I can't, He can, so I'm gonna let Him" ~ first three steps in a nutshell...again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Hey, WW. great news. I too am in California..what a joke trying to get them help. Get a good night's rest (first in a long time, I'm sure). I will pray every day that K takes this opportunity and gets all she can out of it. Job well done, WW. You are a great mom. She will never forget the lengths you are willing to go to for her...they realize it later. Sadly, not all parents are capable of holding up under this stress and just give up. You, my friend, are giving your all and more. I know how tired you are. And I know you love her with all your heart. Keep us updated. We're thinking of you. luv corrinne
P.S. my Brittany had one year sober/clean on October 3rd....I never thought I'd see the day. Thought I'd lost her forever. She told me that making me proud was always on her mind...no doubt it's on K's mind too.

Thank you everyone for your posts! I am getting ready to go to a meeting to protect my own sobriety now ~ whew! Been on the phone off and on all day with insurance companies, Doctors, and the two different school districts...I'll check in later.
