Detox Dr. Today ~

I am going to the Dr. this morning at 11:15.
My husband is going with me. I will tell the Dr. everything I did.
I have to be honest. I talked it over with my husband last night
we think that to be complete off by Christmas is a bit to early so I am
going to ask the Dr. what he thinks about New Year's Eve. It's only a week longer.
Me my Husband and my daughter are going on vacation on Friday.
The big difference is my (part my support system) hubby is going.
I will update you guys when I get back from my app.

I think that's great you decided to talk it over with you doctor and husband. It will be a great Christmas/New Years present to yourself. You'll see life totally diferent being clean.Best of luck to you and your family.
Ps. Where do you live? I hate the cold weather here too. I live in the Tampa area and it is FREEZING here right now. The high is 57,last night was like 30 somthing. I know what you mean about the living up north,forget that. I lived in Ohio for 20 years and I don't miss those days of living in the snow. Rae

Marina......hope things go well with the doc. It's so great that you got honest with hubby, and hopefully, with the doc. If he's a detox dr., surely he'll help. When I told my family doc, she just let me have it and was no help at all. You're doing the right thing. Look forward to hearing how it went! I'm in GA and know what you mean about the weather. It was 23 when I took son to school. Left my pointsetta on the porch and it froze. Talk soon.........

Marina, I live in the New Orleans area and last night in got in the 20's..... I couldn't live somewhere where it was cold like that all through the winter... At least here it gets cold for a few days and then warms up (I think it will soon be back in the 50's and 60's).

Then again, the summers are so brutal here!!!

I know what you mean about not being able to do this all by Christmas... Originally, my husband said that he'd like me sober as his Christmas present, but then we realized that the depression and fatigue of withdrawal will make EVERYONE miserable, so he is helping me taper.... Yesterday he left the pills at home and I ate them every 4 hours.... I kept telling myself "I'm not going to take them" but it was like I had another person inside of me.... I'm reading in a book about how addiction hijacks your brain and the addict doesn't have any control once that happens and I understand completely what the author means. It was like I couldn't stop myself...

So today my husband left 3 1/2 and then took the rest with him.... He won't be home until 8pm and then I can get some more... We are going to do twice a day until Christmas and then once a day until New Years....

You are doing the right thing with your doctor.. Please let us know how that goes....
