Diff,
unless i missed something...do you already know the gender of your baby..and of course have you been thinking about names?....'Diff' is pretty cool but 'Daft' would be a tad too much...how about 'Drift'?
i know that nothing mundane or too pedestrian will do
for the naming of our dear Diff's progeny..
do tell love MARY
Hi Mary, I don't yet know what sex the baby is going to be, but I feel that it will be a girl. My man said before I even got pregnant that he thought that we'd one day have a girl - at least he hoped for a girl, coz if it was a boy it might turn out to be a b****** like him! His words, not mine! But you never know... I don't have a huge amount of experience with little boys, having grown with 2 sisters, no brothers, and I have always spent a lot of time with my nieces. My nephew, he's only three, and a bit of a novelty in my family, coz we seem to have a predisposition for girls. But I really don't care one way or the other, as long as he/she is healthy. And as for names, you're right, nothing run of the mill for me! I've got an unusual name, and have never actually met anybody with the same name as me. Diff is a nickname that I've had all my life, but my full name is equally unusual. So, Pagan Rose for a girl, and Taliesin, Tal for short, for a boy.
Taliesin is the son of Cerridwen, the Great Goddess of the Ancient World. She got pregnant after eating a boy called Gwion, who was supposed to be minding her cauldron, but ended up accidently tasting the contents, and she pursued him, but he turned himself into a grain of wheat in desperation, and she turned herself into a high-crested black hen, and ate him. Nine months later she gave birth to a boy, and could not bring herself to kill him, so she wrapped him in a leather bag and cast him into the sea. The bag was discovered by Elphin, who on opening it saw the little boy and said "Behold, a radiant brow!" which in Welsh, is Taliesin. He was to become the greatest of Welsh poets. See, I'm genned up on my Celtic Gods!
So that's that. I will probably faint with shock if it's a boy though. Probably just as well, coz that's a hell of a story to keep repeating to all and sundry!
