wow.... this place sure is something else. glad this week was not the first time I came to this site. I know for sure I would not have stayed if it was.
Between all of the stupid fighting, pissing contests and people talking about all the drugs they are taking I am questioning the usefulness of this board as a tool in my recovery. I know its been damn near a waste this last 10 days.
How would a newbie feel welcome here?

Good one Jane. I'm sorry for my part in yesterday Johnny but it's unfortunately the nature of the board. Addictive behavior maybe? People feel safer posting behind a computer screen than talking face to face and might say things they normally wouldn't say. Some are just nuts. I shouldn't feel that I have to defend myself, but there you go, I do. Growth would mean not giving a damn, guess I better work on that. I'm glad you stick around though...I like your kind of recovery.
Excellent point of view JohnyD. You are the north star in a sea of disalusionment. I had come back to this borad thinking it had changed...but it hasn't, sigh! This is not addictive behavior cowgirl, it's just bad behavior. What went on yesterday shows no character and no mutual respect.

Can people really expect to go through the rest of their lives,using their addiction for excuses for everything under the sun? I mean really! Bad behavior is bad behavior.Phony is phony.Liar is liar.Drama is Drama.And persons looking to be queen of the world/board are just plain conceited selfish people.
Those attributes have nothing whatsoever to do with addiction,its personality,its who they are.Hiding behind Addiction may work for awhile but eventually,everybody has to face the music.
Im not pointing out anyone in particular(at this moment),i just am so sick of that statement!Stand up and take cahrge of yourself.Stop using addiction as the reasons for every shortcoming in your personality.Its just not cutting it anymore~KIM

It was a question...I don't know what it is, so I asked. I do believe though that those who are in active addiction are not acting appropriately, so that might be part of the problem. I do agree though that bad behavior is bad behavior. And continually bringing it back up doesn't help. Maybe we need to start being part of the solution?
