Does Anyone Know About These Anti-depressants ?

I have a prescription for Welbutrin from my Sub doctor. I have taken Lexapro in the recient past. The Doctor said I could take both at the same time. Does any one know if this sounds right?

I am not depressed right now but some times I can be a little ADD .
I have tried other anti depressents but most gave me sexual side effects. ( delayed orgasm) Way TOOoooo delayed .
The Lexapro doesnt do that , but I question how effective it is . Plus it makes me feel kind of funny.

Any one have any experiance with Welbutrin?

How is Welbutrin different from Lexapro ?

Can I take both at the same time ?

My daughter use to take wellbutrin and it did not work for her, so they switched her to lexapro.. They tried alot of different ones before they started her on the lexapro,.. Anyway the wellbutrin like others you have to be worked up to your dosage, it is also used to help people stop smoking. She did not do well on it it made her crazy she was ill and quick tempered and she did not eat well.. But everyone is different the only ones that have worked good for me is lexapro which I quit taking them and I am now taking celexa wihch works great.

Why did you stop the lexapro ? Did you have any side effects from it?
I thought I felt a little funny on it. So I decided to stop taking everything until I got totally clean and could tell exactly what it was doing to me.

Jake, At the time I was taking the lexapro, I was having a hard time paying for my prescription and my husbands, he is disabled and has alot of health problems. I tapered off of it, we do not have health insurance, except he has medicare, but as you know it does not cover prescription. I was off it for a few months before the depression hit me again, when I went to the dr. she put me on celexa, because it has a generic and is less than half the price of lexapro. Actually the Celexa has less side effects than the lexapro. My daughter still takes lexapro though she has panic attacks, she quit taking them when she found out she was pregnant, but she started having the panic attacks again and her gyno. put her back on them she does great on them.

Jake I went on wellbutrin to try to stop smoking , after my first dose and for the next day I was crying uncontrolably and called my dr who said to stop the wellbutrin immediatly. He said for some people it can overload the receptors in the brain, and I was one of those who responed VERY badly to this med.Ray

I was on Lexapro 10 mg and Wellbutrin 450 mg when I first got clean. I never experienced the depression that addicts get when they start detox. I'm sure that is why my Dr. put me on this cocktail. I am on nothing now. It's almost a year later. I was never sure if I was depressed so therefore I used Narcotics to not feel the pain or if the high dose of narcotics were causing the depression. For me, now, I am confident the Narcotics were causing the depression.

jake have you aksed your doctor about zyprexa?

Jake something I am not sure that I have mention when I was taking lexapro it took a few weeks before my body got use to it, my sister just started taking it and she said the same thing. Most antidepressants do take awhile to get in your syster and then if they are right for what every problems you have will go away.

Yes you can take both at the same time. The Lexapro might give you some sexual side effects but the Wellbutrin shouldn't.

I used Wellbutrin to quit smoking and it gave me a ton of energy too! I almost didn't want to stop taking it! But I haven't had a smoke in over two years!
