A sex offender registry like we have in the states?
Emz post made me wonder that.
This is something gets to me big time.........the registry is valuable, but ther is also the offenders not convicted...........the offenders the kids never told on........and of course some new perv hasn't offended yet.........and there's got to be a first.........so I always went on the assumption that yes you have a sex offender on your block.........around the corner..........everywhere.
We need more education..........teach our kids that you don't have to be respectful of any adult who makes you feel uncomfortable..........back in our day it was if they are an adult you listen and do as they say....they have to trust their little selves and their instincts.
It's an awful subject but one we have to talk to our kids about.......just wondering if other countries have the offenders listed.
Yes...Bryn ...they do have a sex offenders register in the U.K...and they have to tell the police if they are gonna move to a differant area.....but what has happened is some of these men have relocated to Ireland(which has a register)but dont notify the cops so no one is aware of there past and im sure its not just Ireland they run off to.As a dad of a beautiful girl i know the worry that knowing these people are out there preying on kids...its a bad,sad world we live in....luckily i live in a quite area were all the neighbours look out for each others kids.Take care...Bryn.........Davey
hi bryn first of all i wanna ask( i know there is a "MEGANS LAW" )but is it true that all the convicted sex offenders have got to have a sign in their garden telling the public a "sex offender lives here"? Because we are not told who or where the sex offenders live , a couple of years ago a school care taker (ian huntley) raped and killed 2 10 yro pupils it was all over the news . How the hell did he get the job of a school care taker (he had already been convicted a few yrs before) . Its even getting worriying sending our kids to get an education at school its wrong to feel this way but it's so true .

see, that's the diffrence between theUSA and here. Yeah, there is a SO register, but the public don't get to know like over where you are Bryn. A woman who's daughter was killed by a beast tried to get a "meagan's law" type thing done over here, but the gov were having none of it. We should be able to get that info cause they put the f****** antwhere when they come out of jail. Trust me! They put one in my mums street and there is one secondry school and two primary schools in a half mile radious... no joke!!

The man who Emz is on about tried to top himself last night from jail for the 3rd time.He didn't succeed( unfotunately). I think he had been saving up his medication....
This is something I can't be objective about. That said you think I'm already long winded? This subject makes me freaking furious.
No, that's not true Emz, that they have to put a sign in their yard. In my opinion they should be freaking branded on the forehead and I honestly mean that. There's was a guy was in prison for something and the pedophile who raped his little niece was in the same prison. He got him in the cell alone. He had a homemade something or other that he heated up and branded the freak right on the forehead.
Now that would save alot of people pain, heartache, lots of time and money for therapy and mental health visits. The offenders themselves will tell you that they can NOT be rehabilitated.
Regarding schools and places where children are we have background checks. The Megan's law website is also handy for that. I've tried to explain this to people. If you love golf where will you hang out? At a damn golf club. You love basketball. Therefore you enjoy the company of others who play basketball. You hang out on a basketball court.
These are FREAKS! They love kids. So, what jobs are they going to take? Where they going to hang out? At playgrounds, public swimming pools, they become camp counselors and teachers. They are CONS. Manipulators. I've told some mom's this who pooh-pooh the idea that any predator can get their kids because they've taught them better. HELLO, again they are CONS. They con addults so they sure as heck can con kids.
As for Megan's Law. Little Megan lived across the street from THREE convicted sex offenders. They had all moved in together. That's common for them freaks. It's more than an addiction to them and together they can score more kiddie porn and trade and all. Unfortunately AFTER the fact of poor Megan being murdered neighbors came forward with video of these pervs at their block party.
Megan was lured with the good old "Come look at my new puppy" and this is right across the street from her home. Therefore her mom fought for this law.
Indeed it's a tremendous law EXCEPT it gives people a false sense of security. There's thousands of these guys who are NONCOMPLIANT. Meaning they are out there somewhere. That right there puts all kids at risk.
I've seen with my own eyes women hold up fliers of the neighborhood pedophiles who were convicted YET their six year old is blocks away. They need to understand that the guys who are on that site are NOT the ONLY pedophile in your neighborhood. We're talking relatives, and family friends. We're talking teachers, and counselors.
It's sad, sad, sad, but it's reality. Nobody wants to think about it, but you have to if you have children.
The other problem with Megan's law is vigilanti's. However ya spell it. Of course everybody wants to kill the MOFO. Alos there are offenders that were boyfriends of girls who were not of age. These were consensual relationships even the parents knew about that went on for years. The age differences not being that great, but the girl was not legal. So, people wuestion should a young man be made to register for the rest of his life because of that?
Man, I guess not but they have to do something. Just this week the cops in Arizona had a little girls picture from a video. They have no idea who the kid is or the man RAPING her three year old self in the film is. They had to release the little girls photograph. It went on for days nobody knows this kid. So, you pray she is not murdered. Finally they had to release her name. The creep in the video is saying the kids name. Well, that was four years ago. They found the little girl. Guess what?
The family is STUNNED STUNNED STUNNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She never told!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to SCREAM. Of course she didn't tell. Here it was a friend of a friends friend.
So, we have to be dilligent with who is taking care of our children. That guy was not even a close friend of the family. Meanwhile he's still at large.
I wanna SCREAM!!!!!!!! That's ONE CHILD. There is HUNDREDS more kids out there as we speak suffering what that litle baby doll did.
