I hope that someone could shed some ligt on what has happened to me. For years I drank alot, more then to just socialize. I quit around July 2003 after a long stay at a Hospital for a ruptured abcess on my lungs. I did not pick up untill yesterday wathing a car race with some friends. I drank about 5 beers and became sick. Not like toilet hugging sick but rather more like I felt poisoned.
It was awfull I got the sweats and I just felt like crap. I was wondering if any body else has experienced this. I am concerned what has happened to me. I had a blood test done about 6 months ago because my PCP requires because of the abcess rupture. They say there is possibilty that another could form somewhere else since the bacteria was exposed to the chest bones. However all the bloodwork done came back ok. Liver function was normal. I am very worried.
Any exp and advice would be appreciated.

coolbeans, my ex is a heavy drinker, he throws up blood when he drinks and states how he cant drink anymore but continues to drink daily, with your health issues your body is telling you something. for you not to have drank in awhile and then drink 5 beers your body freaked on ya. its probably best to leave the alcohol alone. i had not drank for years and drank a couple of years ago and i got arrested within a hour of drinking, you kinda start where you leave off. if you are on alot of meds it best to avoid drinking anyway. take care
