This will demonstrate the thought process of a drug addict:

Don't try to understand this guy, he's been a walking corpse for years. he has survived by blood transfusions and many trips to Switzerland, where rock stars have gone for many years to get organ transplants and whatever else. It's a common thing and in my industry you hear about it all the time. They don't mind paying some poor guy 20 grand for a kidney or a dead guys family 50 grand for a healthy liver. These things have gone on for a long time and it seems like the world doesn't care about the exploitation.
Not the thought process of any addict I've ever known, Danny, lol.
That guy is just as warped as they come.
Bikeman, just today I heard on the radio that in Iraq they are selling kidneys as cheaply as five hundred dollars. How sick is that?
xxxxxoooo

This just goes to show you what to much money and to many drugs will do to a person. To bad no one ever stepped in and helped this diseased man.
How lucky are we that we have had people that do care about us. We may not have all that money but we have been empowered beyond what Keith Richards could believe.
Selling organs for money???? Man we don't have to look far to find nasty sick stories these days. May god forgive the people involved in this atrocity. Disgusting...

I'm with Kat...I've not known any addicts with that mind set. Man, what a case.
Well said, KeeKee.
How lucky we are, indeed. Perhaps one day, if he survives, he will find recovery. He could afford the nicest of rehabs, a luxury many can only dream of and yet does not. Can you imagine being his age, experiencing all that he has, and finding yourself at sixty three unable to remember much of it? What a shame.

I've never known a single one, Lisa, or even heard of one before this who would do what he did. As far as that act goes, he needs more help than just for his addiction.

Yes, after a while...as long as he has been abusing drugs and alcohol....there is a certain amount of brain damage that happens and its irreversible.
I heard the term "Wet Brain" the other day. Has to do with alcohol abuse and the permanent damage caused! made so much sense to me with my ex husband.

I've never heard that term before. Can you elaborate for me a little? Someone very dear to me is a serious alcoholic. (an insulin dependent diabetic too)
Sometimes I'm amazed that she's still alive.
Did it give you any symptoms or signs to look for?

Yes, here is an article...try googling it. I was shocked myself, but so many things made sense to me after learning about this and last week was the first I have ever heard of it as well.
