i wonder if anyone can help? my father is 66 years old, and has used alcahol most of his life. he has always owned his own pub untill now and can drink vodca any time of the day. on sunday past he was admitted to hospit alafter he collapsed in the toilet, 8am in the morning. he has had 3 sezures? up to press and is not able to communicate and dose not seem to recognise anyone he tries to forse words out but dose not mannage. could anyone tell me if this could be the alcahol and if so will he recover. i am very acxious and would be greatfull for any conversation regarding the subject.

It sounds like your dad has two problems.First, unfortunately he may have had a stroke which your doctors will diagnose.The second is alcohol abuse or alcoholism.If you or your father went to the Treatment Options (see tool bar above) section of this web site you'd see a self evaluation section which would help figure it out.
