Someone on here, or it may have been someone's partner did one of the fast track 5 day detox things.
Here in the Uk they used to cost 5,000. Now the government is letting people go into them free. Anyone been there, anyone know anyone who's been there.
It's clutching at straws a bit but he can't get subs as they are too expensive and the clinic say if one addict gets subs they'll all want them so no one can have them - the joys of city living. They won't reduce his methadone - now that I don't understand but I think it's because he's on amps.
Back to clutching at straws, everytime he tries to cut down at home he has seizures so he needs a medical inpatient facility. My bloke's drug advisor said the 5 day detox didn't work and to avoid it because it's too quick and there are no follow up appointments.
Today she's done a flip around and told my guy to try it because she's sending people into the the NHS detox centre and out of the last 200 who've gone in, only one person has managed to stay clean, as now there is no follow up appointments there either. ANyone done this?

I believe you are referring to rapid-detox, which comes with considerable risk and there have been deaths reported from clinics using this method.
The addict is sedated (or anaesthetised with ultra-rapid detox) and then given Naltrexone to send them into immediate and severe withdrawal. A range of medications are used to treat the symptoms and the person is kept heavily sedated. After 24-48 hours they are discharged clean and on Naltrexone, but its no picnic.

Just my opinion but I think it's crazy dangerous..........like big time.......some TV show over here actually showed it..............man, I rather stay on dope then go through that...........do a detox myself...........than that..........and your man he's got dangerous health issues besides, Jazwan.

Read up on the Detox 5 thanks for the heads up.
We are safe and well sister fish. But he is in a black hole right now and I can't go down there with him. All I do is watch how this plays out, no easy answers and he's working and juggling the meth and work. Now we have some real sun, I like to go off out and away and he's tied by the meth but we can't be tied down with him and he knows it. So me and my little lady have holidays booked and once again he's saying next year I'll be with you. It's real sad.
