Congradulations Frank! All any of us has is today. I'm so happy for you that today is a clean day.
We all have our reasons for getting clean, but if anyone might need an extra, I'd like to share where I spent all of last night and up until about an hour ago.
My 20 year old cousin was in a car accident. She was taking klonopin (I don't know much about this drug....nothing I ever personally dabbled with) but anyway she nodded and ran off the road. She hit a telephone poll and literally knocked it to the ground.
The nearly new Cougar she was driving was so smooshed no one could believe a person could come out of it alive.
There weren't even any skid marks because she didn't jolt awake in time to try and stop from veering off the road.
She broke her arm in several places, they will be checking tommorrow to see if she'll need surgery for that. Right now she's in ICU from emergency surgery. They had to remove her spleen. Her liver was damaged. She has several serious gashes and has had to recieve blood. Right now she's on a respirator, but I'm not sure if that's a normal procedure or what.
I have no idea what she'll be like as she recovers from this.They say her condition at this moment is stable.
I'm assuming at the very least she'll be required to pay for the damaged telephone poll and most likely charged with driving under the influence.
In a few seconds her life has been seriously damaged.
I hope and pray she fully recovers. I also hope and pray she gets into a program of recovery. Twenty years old and a full blown addict.....just a kid.
Maybe this will be her bottom, I can only hope.
The saddest things sure can make you grateful for that one day that we all have.This could have been any single of one us here and one of our mother's could be weeping tonight. An extra prayer this morning for all those still sufferring, love, Kat

I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. I will pray for her and just hope that she has a full recovery. You know I was thinking about the phrase rock bottom and just what it means. Is it the same for everyone ??? Again, I'm so sorry Kat and just thank God because it sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

Just got back from the marina. Went up to my boat and washed some of the dirt off of it. It so helps to get out and do things. How are you doing??

Hi Rach,

No. Its up in Ventura. I love to fish and use to dive. Probably kill myself if I tried that now. But I love to go to anacapa and santa cruz islands. It only takes me about 40 minutes to get there. I did take the long trip to catalina once. Wow...to long from ventura. Never did that again. How ya doing??

did you take it for a spin after you got the dirt off it??- i love boats- always had one growing up- my dad used to take us on all night fishing trips- ah it was fun

im great- paws are gone- hung out by the pool all day yesterday- something about the sun just makes me feel good

today have just been cleaning the house, got kinda behind last week with the paws crap-

i hope my future husband has a boat

I've been in the sun for the last 4 days. There is something about it that makes you feel good. Nope, didn't take it out. Need to do some work on the engine first. Next week though...Its fishing time. The weather been awesome here lately.

Remember what I told you about that lucky guy that boat?

It's been a week!!! Way to go, you are on the right road. I know the relapsing was hard, but I'm so proud of you for getting up and starting over. I can relate! We're here for you when you need anything.

Thank you. Mon. - Wed were bad but it started to get better. Making myself get out and do stuff has really helped. It was just time....and I'm not fighting it this time. Just going with it. Hope that makes sense.
