O.K. why do I have to learn my history from Len Goodman on the American Version of "Dancing With The Stars"?
I never knew about no firecracker day.
I humbly asked and got lectured by one of my siblings for having never paid attention in school. However that's amazing stuff. Only thing I didn't know it all happened back in the 1600's.
At first I thought he said Steven Hawkes. Like the skateborder. Ot that brilliant man who does physics. Could be I'm dyslexic.
I'm going to read up on all of this and I know it's Faulkes now. None of y'all told us about this.
Did you guys do bonfires as kids?
Its Guy Fawlkes ...Brynner....and yeh its a big deal in the U.K as a kid we would ritually trawl every dump or skip for stuff to put on your bonfire....had fireworks as well great night for us kids.Also we would go round with an effigy....made to look like dearest Guy asking penny for the Guy bit like trick or treating.Hope that fills a gap or two on yer search.A.T.B....Davey
