Five Weeks Clean

Well, here I am after not smoking for 5 weeks and everything seems to be getting better. My wife is still moved-out but that's another story- while related I am not so sure now that this time away may not be a good thing, whatever way my marriage turns out.
My mood is really stabilizing; it's really quite remarkable to tell you the truth to just be kind of "clear", and the up and down parts are really not that intense. Oddly enough, I've pretty much stopped drinking coffee, because I found if I had much of it I got anxiety from it as well! I did have two cups before mass on Sunday but other than that I switched completely to tea and only a cup of that at a time.
Some things that have helped me:
Mass on Sunday- I feel better everytime I come back to the apartment and the blessings shared can keep me up for a couple hours afterward.
Riding my bicycle.
Visiting my father; I wouldn't trade him for anything.
Reading the Bible, even though I don't do it that much.
Visiting this board and seeing an encouraging message.

Ernie

ernie, if you are able to utilize the sacraments, give some consideration to using the sacrament of reconciliation (confession). many graces are received in confession to deal with addiction and other issues. very healing, uplifting and cleansing.
Nice one brother!
Good for you Ernie, I hope you continue on your recovery, I'm sure you will.
We use whatever works for us and you seem to have all your ducks on a row.
Good luck to you.
