Hang in there believe it or not you are my inspiration - my man 20 or so years on H and many years on methadone. He's come right down on the H only chipping a little bit and for him this is good you've gone a long time just on a script that's not just good it's brilliant. He could give up the H completely if they'd up his methadone but they won't I keep saying - you can survive on the script alone - he keeps trying to. Like I said you're my inspiration.

They may up his methadone, if he is producing a dirty urine I'm surprised that they are continuing his script at all? Though, I don't think that they have a way to test for that because they are both opiates, only a toxicology test would show that he was using... hmmm... well guess i dont know too much about that
Hi trooper, I live in the UK, and although I no longer get tested, when I was on methadone, I was getting tested, and using a standard urine testing kit, they could tell the difference between methadone and heroin. With subs, heroin comes up, but subs doesn't. To test for subutex they would have to send it away, but they never did that, because obviously it was what they expected to find. And I think I remember having to do a mouth swab, not a urine sample when I was on subs. Just FYI.
But you're right, it's odd that whoever is doing the testing/prescribing hasn't picked up on the dirty urines. I know from experience that if you don't use heroin for three days before your test, it will come back clean, so maybe that's what's going on. If you're only tested say once a month, it's not a huge hardship to go without smack for three days, especially if you can take extra 'done for those three days.

The deal now is - I went up a bit on my mdone. Im starting to go back to the rooms that I had abanded.
Im getting back into my work instead of letting it beat me down.
So- I feel that Im on the right track AGAIN. I shouldnt have let screwing up 1 time throw me into a depression like that-but Im over it- (The stiches around my eye are out and all is healing)
You guys were all great and supportive.
The people at my home group meeting were great and all concerned that they wouldnt see me again- but- Im back. I even have a bunch of guys that volenteered to be my temp. sponser. All looks like it will be OK.
I can worry about tapering from 45 now when Im truley ready
Maybe going from 80 to 30 - then to 35. Then screwing up- should tell me something.

Yep Diff the clinic tests once a month so of course he can go without for a couple of days. Having said that I'm sure he does actually tell them that he's chipping he seems to tell them everything and they still seem pretty pleased with him. He's come down from 10mls methadone IV daily + a gram (20 bag every day) to 2mls methadone IV daily and a half bag (10) weekly.
God willing he'll kick the brown completely.

That's the Jack I know......adopting a positive attitude......and cutting yourself a small break......of all the people in this world who LAPSED and i say this because you didn't RELAPSE....if that was the deal I doubt you'd be checking in with us......you'd be out somewhere dangerous, and saying "Uggghhh these people don't know what they're talking about" LOL Self fullfilled prophecy and all....you know how that goes.
You're cherished, and look at everyone that cares.....why do we care?
Because you are a kind heart, you give back.....and ya make alot of sense.
