Game Time.

Jackofhartzz has a new avatar with someone holding a guitar in front of a large crowd. It looks to be taken at a place like woodstock so the good folks around here should have no problem guessing who it is.So lets all take a guess and then Jack can step in and tell us who it is.

I'll go first.... Jim Morrison?
Did Morrison play a guitar? I only remember him being lead singer.

If you blow the pic up, the guy isn't dressed like Morrison either, and looks a little chunkier.

I was going to say Clapton, but I think he use to play electric more back then I think.

Now I'm curious.

Jack after more take guesses, can you give us some hints, like year and venue before revealing?
Although he never wrote or sang lead on a hit single, **** ******had the greatest impact on----------- /----------------of any member. He holds the record for the longest, unbroken membership (19 years), and he has been at times the only original member of the band present. and, throughout it all, he presided over the band's loose and sometimes messy democracy.

Pic is from a venue in the SF bay area circa 1970- .

Big hint- Female lead singer( who he has a daughter with)
Big hint- His interest in science fiction helped transform ** into ** .
Old Guest, I have to ask. Did you make the user name up because it seemed that I insinuated that the good folk around here are old? Such is not the case. Umm, Umm ,I swear .... I swear on bryndas Stanley Cup predictions.
Back on topic. I don't know if Morrison Played the guitar but I never knew M Jagger played the guitar until to night when I was watching one of the stones older concerts. So I guess he may have.
First I want to say that I have no idea who itar is and how i put those letters in for my name.
Second is a question for Jack. I'm not going to guess again but maybe we can make this like "What's my line"
Jake, was the person in the picture fond of the book "Alice in Wonderland" ?
Although he never wrote or sang lead on a hit single, Paul Kanter had the greatest impact on Jefferson Airplane /Jefferson Starship of any member. He holds the record for the longest, unbroken membership (19 years), and he has been at times the only original member of the band present. and, throughout it all, he presided over the band's loose and sometimes messy democracy.

Big hint- Female lead singer>Glacie Slick ( who he has a daughter with)
>> China<<<

Big hint- His interest in science fiction helped transform Airplane into Starship

I dont think -even with the hints, you guys would,ve gotten this too quickly -So I,ll help youse out- - maybe you,ll say - hm-mm if I thought about more I might of got it.- or- you might think , WTF Jack, we know the band, but we never would've guess that musician if we guessed all year -

I dont know where you were goin with that Alice in Wonderland question ,Kevin-
Maybe Kanter watch the flicked 10 times, then came up with "White Rabbit?"

I went into edit and filled in the blanks-

After reading ur hints I was pretty sure of the band, thus the AiW ( yes, White Rabbit) reference. You are correct tho, I would have never guessed the band member.
Jack, lets start a -guess the person in Jacks avatar- game. Make it people from the late 60s early 70s. Thats if you want to , of course.
Hi Kevin from Saratoga

Do ya know my ol/current G/F is from Saratoga- well her sister is there now, but her family grew up in the Albany/ Schenectady area. If I dont find a suitable job before winter, Im thinking of moving up there . She has a job in the health care field- she really never liked the corporate world. When she was down here with me for almost 17 yrs- - 11 of them were at one place in the Quality Control dept. of a major Cable company. It paid very well & was a great position, but she really hated it- the stress- the whole corporate scene, I think she started drinking a bit too much because she was just so stressed out and unhappy.- Now, at least what I see when I go up there and what she tells me , booze isnt part of her deal anymore. She was never a liar- -so I have to believe her .
Well- enuff about her- -

Being as your from Saratoga- - do ya see all the horse racing crowd up there yet?? I remember I used to go every yr- -one of the finest tracks and area in the country.
Brings in a ton of cash during the season, stores, restaurants, clubs, concerts, bars, etc,,, all make their living in the month of August- then it goes back to a regular resort town.
So- my question would be- - Do ya see any move in the economy up there?? I figure I need to work for 8-10 more yrs of my life. Then at 62-65 -that will be it.
Any money, 401K inheritance,, whatever...will be cashed in and Im out of the game.
Whats the big industries up there?? -What is the big company that everyone wants to work at?? I know a lot of people work for the state- Sandy has 2 brothers and both work for the state (in Albany) in one facet or another.

430-am

jack

Oh yeah- I put up a new musician to guess- - Im gonna start makin them harder, your pretty good - & get them to easy-- -
Can you go into my settings and get the answer?? -tell me if ya can ,so maybe I can change that-
I trust ya- -but this forum for some reason has lots of dope fiends on it- -lol
John Bonham?
Jack,
I'm actually about a 1/2hr east of Albany in a town called Averill Park. You seem to be very familiar with the area and the goings on so yes It's a full house in Saratoga. The track has been open for a week or so.

Your post really got me reflecting on the area and how much has changed here in my life time. This area has pretty much always been considered a college town ,U Albany, Siena, RPI and Union college and yes, State employment is also huge up here. All the big Industry has pretty much either closed up or moved out. Steel manufacturing , Railroad, Meat Packing, and alot of it, all gone. Even the road and bridge repair has dropped off quite a bit since Joe Bruno retired for politics. He certainly isn't the most popular person around here but he did bring in a lot of money to the area when he was the Senate Majority Leader.

Right now AMD is building a chip fab plant just north of Saratoga ,in Malta, which is to bring a few hundred, or more, jobs into the area. Construction had just started on it and they already are planning an expansion on the plant. That's good news for me because it would mean that they would need to build a Co-Gen there to supply enough power to run the plant. I hope you don't take offense to this but you seem to be more white collar than blue, I say this because you seem to be very intelligent. Well , to me , your even above above average intelligence so your chances of employment up here would be pretty good.

General Electric had a plastics and silicone plant in the area but sold both and I here that the new owners are not nearly as generous as G.E. was. The main G.E. plant, Turbine Division in Schenectady, is hiring now and then. At one point it looked as if the plant was going to close and move south, to the Carolinas. I never saw the plant in full operation but it is huge and even with a cpl of thousand ppl working there is still looks like a ghost town.

Jack, if you are serious about a move and if there is anyway I can help I would be more than happy to. Anything.
It's a shame the tax situation is what it is in this state because it is a beautiful state with tons to do , Saratoga, NYC, Lake George and the history in that area, the ocean, mountains, etc, etc, etc, all within a cpl of hrs from Albany.
I myself am partial to the North Country, Adirondack region, as i spent a few weeks a summer with my Great Grandfather as a child.
yes- John Bonham
Jack, that's a great picture for the game. I myself never would have gotten it but I enlarged it and his last name came up in the gif. I cheated and googled it.
I'm not saying it, maybe someone else will guess.
It's funny, that band was huge and I had no idea who he was. That was excellent.
The original Guest seems to have a lot of relatives. Who's next?
Anyway, Good guess, guest.
Jack when you save it in your photobucket, change the name of the pic so it doesn't come up on the properties.

Next?

And yeah, the surname "Guest" is very popular here in the states, like Smith, Jones, and Johnson.
Bonham is my favorite drummer ever. It just doesn't get any better in the rock world. A&E did a bio on Led Zep on Sunday, so that's probably how I knew. He was the motor!
next
I looked at it and thought "easy, Clapton". I took a closer look and while the name is on the tip of my tongue it won't come out....for now.
Think....Think....Think...

Edit: wasted edit. was going to say, maybe, J. Garcia. While I didn't see any pictures of him just before he died I looked again and no, not Garcia.
No not Jerry...........

I dont know how to edit properties..etc...

so if his name is there- I dont see it
--------------------------------------------------------------------
anyway- (hint)- he had a famous father
How about 1 more hint Jack. I'm stumped ATM.
OK-

he was famously arrested for littering

that should help ya
